Sammy's Pizza — Restaurant in Kankakee

Today 7/3/22 I ordered the Meat Head pizza for delivery. The delivery driver was nice and polite as was the young lady that took my order. I tipped him $5. However when I started eating it I discovered that it was burnt. I called to complain about it and yes the young lady offered to make another one. I declined the offer because I have worked in restaurants before and it's not always taken well when you send food back. I told her that I won't be ordering from them anymore. I'm sure that my little bit of money won't effect their bottom line but I think it should have been baked correctly the first time. In addition, what is up with the cracker crust? Does any place in the Kankakee area use doughy crust? I experienced this same thing with three other establishments which I ordered from once and never again. If I remember correctly from my days of working in the snack shop at the bowling alley, the cracker crust is cheaper. But it's definitely not better! The 2 star rating is for the...

Ok so we honor the Sabbath and we were pressed for time. We got in a sue was the waitress who served us. So before we get into the food let's talk about Sue. An amazing woman full of beautiful personality. I explained to her that we had until dark fall and she was right on it with the most upbeat attitude. I could understand if it annoyed her that this rambunctious family came in short on time asking for "special attention" but she didn't mind. I'll eat/go anywhere Sue's at! Ok so the pizza. It was our first time here and it's a nice and cozy place. Aside from two elderly ladies enjoying their evening, we were the only family dining in. So if you like seclusion this is it. The food was amazing!!! We got the half cheese/half beef, a taco pizza and wings. I had a sour amaretto because why not; and we all had Pepsi products. Over all I would say Sammy’s has some excellent pizza! I would do carry out in the future though. Although they were dead when we went around 8pm, the service seemed a bit slow. Also half of it is a bar. It’s separated by a wall from the bar which made it better since we brought kids with us. Now if you love pizza and drinking this would be a great place! It is also good for adults to eat at, but I wouldn’t recommend it for kids. (since half of it it’s a bar)

Sammy’s pizza was top notch as far as their pizza goes though! We had a chicken bacon ranch pizza and 2 cheese, it was amazing!

If I had just been out with my friends, or out drinking, I would have rated it much higher, but with kids it’s just not the best place to go and sit in. But this is just my opinion. I am going to order out next time, but you may enjoy it!
