9 months ago I gave Charlie D's a five star rating simply because I believe in supporting black owned business. I visited this evening and Saturday in my car for several minutes going over my order with my special needs son. As soon as my son ordered he returned to the car. The order was wrong. He specifically told the cashier he wanted the $6.99 Basa with no sides and the $12.99 catfish with two sides with an extra side order of potato salad be there that's what we discussed. Mind you had wrote specifically on the menu I had my son go in to get what we wanted. Prior to him ordering I had him go inside to get the menu so we could go over our order. I circled what we wanted and went over it with him a few times because my son is special needs before sending him in to order. When he came out immediately after ordering to bring me the change and the receipt I noticed the order was wrong. So I instructed my son to go back in and clearify it. He came back out and said they said you ordered potato salad ( I was looking for him to come back with at least one to two dollars because of the difference but that didn't happen ) I asked him what hapohapp then he told me about the sides in the Basa order that was not supposed to be sides in the Basa order just fish. So finally I went in to see what the issue was. When I got in and explained what we wanted and our food had still not been prepared they refused to accommodate the situation which would have cost them basically nothing or maybe a dollar or two in a refund that was going into the tip jar anyway because I always tip and ive frequented Charlie D's for at least 15 years or maybe more since before my son that I sent in to order was born. I've never complained even though many times in the years i visited one of the restaurants and I've been to them all even when my order was wrong. Yet I still supported because like I said I believe in supporting black owned business. I videoed my encounter there because I am not only upset but rather disappointed. It would not have hurt his business to accommodate us furthermore I helped this man bring a refrigerator in his establishmest a couple years ago at least, I held the door so he could get it in when I had come by early one day just before he opened. There's more i can say but I'm just fed up with black people complaining about how we don't support our own but yet when we do we have to endure horrible customer service because what he did was petty. I’ve been a loyal customer of this establishment and typically love coming here, which makes tonight’s experience particularly disappointing.
Issues Encountered:
Missing Items: My mashed potatoes were completely left out of my order, despite being part of my meal.
Long Wait Time: I waited over an hour for my food, which is significantly longer than usual.
Out of Stock: The restaurant was out of yams, which was unfortunate since that’s one of my favorite items.
Feedback for Management:
The staff really needs to implement better quality control when packing orders. Double-checking that all items are included in bags before handing them to customers would prevent situations like this. Missing items creates unnecessary inconvenience for customers who support your business.
Final Thoughts:
Despite tonight’s disappointment, I still believe in this place and plan to give it another try in the future. I hope management addresses these operational issues to ensure other loyal customers don’t have similar experiences.

Also one of the cooks was very rude as well because people were standing in line waiting for orders that had been called in such as myself. The young lady and cook were both yelling and cussing each other out with customers in the lobby Area. Once I finally got up to the counter to pay for my food she showed me the fish dinner real quick which I couldn't hardly see it because she bagged it up along with my Chicken dinner. Now I will admit the chicken dinner was very good. But the fish was over cooked and very hard more like it was old and just warmed up just to get rid of it. I will probably not go back there if I do then I will call and ask who's working before I place my order.
