KC Chop House — Restaurant in Kansas City

This place is top notch. The food is so good. Seriously. I had the sea bass, and I’m still salivating at the thought of it, and it’s been a full day. Compliments to the chef! The food was incredible. You gotta try the au gratin potatoes. Phenomenal! And definitely don’t skip desert. The Sunday Sunday is worth it I promise. Start your diet tomorrow honey! The staff is exceptional. Seriously, everyone is so friendly. Both of the hosts were so nice immediately upon entering and seating us. The man who brought me my food. So nice and helpful. The guy who brought us the bread and water, also so helpful and sweet. But I have to give the biggest shout out EVER to my server Brendan! You could tell he truly cared about the service. He made us feel so comfortable and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. Such a sweet guy.Again, top notch. Request him for sure! I seriously can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu! I’ll of course be requesting Brendan! Every.time. Fine dining is all about the experience, and this place passed the vibe check....

The lighting was so low I was not able to see the temperature of my steak when I cut into it, ordered med rare and it came out rare, reorder new steak and told I would pay it for me not catching it, ordered med and it came out perfect med rear, great taste and wonderful marble, mashed potato was excellent, just needed a little salt and pepper in which it give me a chance to season to taste. Had a Long Island ice tea top shelf and it was perfect and I can’t forgot the server and the service she gave Ms Sarai was attentive even with the wrong temperature on the steak, she still came out several times to make sure I was ok and even comp my first steak even though I was going to pay for it. Over all it got four star because temperature on steak was wrong and lightning in dining room was to dim to see the color or temperature of your steak. Over all I would come back. Nice place...

We LOVE the onion soup, crab cakes, Au gratin potatoes and service is good depending on who you get! The STEAKS however are some of the WORST we have ever had NO flavor and taste like they were frozen! (rib eyes, salmon, and prime rib) The music is way to loud and not appropriate for the type of restaurant this is trying to be and the prices are WAY out of line for the quality of food. Serving frozen dessert is NOT appropriate for THIS price point! We never write reviews but have ate here 4 times and feel we are entitled to an opinion. We both had drinks (Martinis) last visit smallest glasses we have ever seen and then they were a double or triple with alcohol and garnished NO flavor. This could be a great place with a few adjustments but its not there yet and for $220 price tag I think you can do much...
