This is my second visit to Knuckleheads for a concert. The last time I went it was probably six or seven years ago before I even lived in Kansas City.
Recently, I went to the Knuckleheads Garage to see the Texas Headhunters, which is a newer band featuring my favorite guitar player and singer Ian Moore.
The experience was pretty great from start to finish. I was able to buy a ticket online and save it to my Apple wallet. It was super easy to get in. Parking was on-site and plentiful.
They had a great opening act that was a local band from Kansas City.
I liked that the drinks were affordable and super cold. I got a tall Quirk for $8. Beers were similarly priced. Later in the evening, I got hungry and scored a hotdog for six dollars. The whole place is cash only. Be advised you will not tap to pay. They have an ATM on site if you need cash.
The concert was fantastic! The band was amazing and I was very pleased with the experience.
There’s a large seating area with tables and chairs in the middle of the venue and on the north side there are rows of old airline or bus seats with cupholders that are amazing. You are even welcome to go down into the pit without an extra special kind of ticket
The sound was great and not too loud, it was very clear and clean, the lights were well done and they even had robotic video cameras with someone mixing the video on screen and out in the bar area so you didn’t have to miss what was happening. The restrooms were clean and nice. The whole thing was a great experience.
I will most certainly be returning to Knuckleheads for...
Read moreOne of the best venues in town for music mix and quality! Not insanely loud, and more importantly, someone is paying attention to the mix, you can hear all the people in the band most of the time. Seems like a low bar, right? Most venues in town can't hit it. I've been dozens of times, and it is very consistent.
This lack of 5 stars is the food. Now, I don't expect gourmet, but....
They changed the menu recently, very reduced number of items. I get it, it was big before, and I'm sure it was a hassle. But here was the difference: Each time in the past, what I ordered was hot, recently prepared. This time, we had some chicken that was done suspiciously fast... and after trying it, it was obvious it had probably been done hours before and under a heat lamp. Way over cooked, dried out, and tough to eat! It came with fries that on a cripsiness scale of 1-10, barely managed to make a 2.
Hope the owners read this. I'd like to see this place remain one of the best places to go to hear some live music, and at least get something decently prepared, even if there are only a...
Read moreWe drove an hour for the Sunday Comdey Show and it was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was funny, there was variety in the sets, it was smooth transition, it was a great show. Drinks were good, nothing fancy but they tasted good and were strong. The food however I found was expressive. I got a 6 piece chicken strip and fries it was $18 plus tip (I can't not tip I was raised right) the fries were plain, unseasoned, and soggy. It came with some ranch dip and maybe im a scooper but it wasn't enough. But the chicken was good. Overall worth it, great people great experience! I'll definitely come back for the laughs and drinks, but...
