With a little work this place has an opportunity to really shine.
THE GOOD: The drinks were solid; so is the service. Lights dimmed, seating comfortable, and the reservation system keeps the crowd to a minimum.
THE BAD: Parking is a nightmare. We were late to our reservation because it was so crowded we had to park up the street at an extremely unsecure location.
There was no music being played in the background. It was just a dark candle-lit room with a bunch of people talking. The original the Hey-Hay Club was a jazz night club.
Lastly there is not exclusivity or privacy at all. If you don't have a reservation you can still go down and check out the Hey Hey Club. It felt weird to have people dressed in shorts come down and look at me and my date enjoy our drinks. You also come in through the same entrance as everyone else. So while you might be on a snazzy date, you will still have to put up with the frat boys going on a distillery tour or the out of towners shopping the giftshop before going to Knuckleheads.
Aside from the drinks there is a lot to be desired. The bar is upscale but the experience needs to...
Read moreIf you love a dark intimate setting to share drinks and small plates, you’ll love the Hey Hey Club. Perfect for a date night, or to have a small gathering with friends. I believe they make reservations for up to six people, and you’re allowed to keep your table for two hours. Perfect for pre-dinner drinks and appetizers. I had the modele rouge drink, and it was refreshing and delicious. The only thing I wish was different was the seating. The space is a bit loud once it’s full, so I would like to see some tables with chairs side by side for easier conversation, rather than across a table. Other than that, the service was top notch and very attentive. Will definitely return to try more...
Read moreMy husband and I love places that serve unique drinks, and this was one of those places. We are BIG fans of bars with a cozy living room atmosphere, and even bigger fans of excellent bartenders and servers. We made a reservation at a table, without knowing how busy the place would be at 7:00 on a Saturday night. It was not terribly busy, (40% capacity at first) but filled up as the night got later. I would recommend reserving ahead of time to ensure you get a seat.
Prices are on-par with other establishments of this kind, but these drinks felt worth every dollar for the uniqueness and experience they provided. I hope to return soon and...
