Tacos El Sobrino — Restaurant in Kansas City

To be honest, if I could give a 0 out of 5 I would. Now I don't want to sound hateful but this place is bad. I came here around October 2018 with my older sister and younger brother. I ordered 2 tacos, one asada and one pollo. The tacos looked delicious but as soon as we bit into our tacos we immediate knew something wasn't right. The meat did not taste fresh more like they reheated it. When we got home we all three had diarrhea😷 The waitresses were just awful as well! They were rude and had RBF the entire time. Fast forward to Wednesday February 26 2020. I thought after almost 2 years they would have changed but no. I ordered nachos de asada and they were just terrible. I had one chip and they were disgusting stale. They microwaved them! So the chips were hardened/stale and nasty. They put the asada on top and then shredded cheese from a bag and microwaved it! The meat was burnt onto the chips and the cheese was burnt. I left the plate just how I got it minus that one chip. The waitress came to ask me how the food was and I explained to her I didn't want the nachos because it looked and tasted like it had been microwaved. She responded with "Oh that's how you make these nachos. They are Mexican Nachos." I am Mexican American! Those are not how you make Mexican Nachos! My grandma and mom makes her own melted cheese in a pot. I tried to explain that those are not Mexican tacos but for her sake and not wanting to argue I just told her I didn't want them, if my mother could just pay for the food she ate(just a ceviche tostada and a torta to go). She said I ordered nachos, and even if I didn't eat them, I'd still have to pay for them. What!?!?? $8.00 for something I didn't even eat! I tried saying that was outrageous, but she gave me attitude and said, "Well even if you didn't eat them, you have to pay. That's how you make those type of nachos, and nobody has complained about them but you." I was beyond pissed and just told her okay, whatever and to just take the nachos away from me.

In the end I highly don't recommend the place at all until the wait staff get re-trained, and they either change the way they make the food or hire a new chef. My review may sound too harsh, but it...

If I could I would give it a negative 10. So a couple of weeks ago our family was going through a very difficult time. So we decided to order some tacos from this place. No one was in the mood to cook it was a lot and they could of said no they couldn’t. But we also thought give them som business with all that is going on. Never thought that when I walked in to this place to pick up the orders I was going to hear the owner complaining to another customer and causing out my family for order that many tacos. I said what they paid for the orders nothing was free or discounted we paid the full price and we thought of giving you our business. He had the nerve to get mad and walk out the restaurant talking more harsh words....

Their tacos are Amazing. But last year they posted a special for $1 Tacos on their facebook page , so we called in a order. When we arrived to pick it up , they played dumb and said they didnt have a $1 special. I was convinced I had been on the wrong facebook page till another couple walked in and asked for the $1 special. It made me so upset we didnt go back for nearly a year. They even told me find the post and they will honor it. So they posted it. Regretted it and deleted it and refused to own up to the mistake. Food is 5 stars. Staff is 1 star. Ill give them 3 stars total. Despite their reply. They have been Open more than a year. Their facebook page has posts going back to Feb 20th, 2018...... Again take...
