We walked into this restaurant and there was only one other customer throughout the whole restaurant. 2 with ourselves included. I was a little iffy about trying it being the restaurant was empty during a prime time on Saturday night. But decided to give it a try anyway. First, let me just say The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and pretty tidy. Our server was awesome and so was the hostess. I had a strawberry margarita on the rocks and it was pretty good. As far as the food? Not so much. I ordered the steak chimichanga with a double order of rice and a crunchy beef taco à la carte. The chimichanga was supposed to come with pico de gallo and sour cream with lettuce. Our server did not bring that with my meal so I had to ask for it. I know it was no fault of her own as she didn’t make the food. But once she brought the ticket, I was charged $3.12 for the sour cream that should’ve come with the meal in the first place. The steak chimichanga with the cheese sauce and red sauce was not good. I didn’t even finish it. The steak was just tiny cubes with no seasoning. I was expecting fajita meat. Not sure if that would’ve made it any better. I always take home my leftovers, but I just left the meal because it just wasn’t good. I don’t think it would’ve gotten any better the next day. The rice was good though. The crunchy beef taco was just as bad. The shell was stale and the meat didn’t have any seasoning on the beef. I did finish it because I was hungry. The chips were crunchy, however, the hot and mild salsa served with the chips wasn’t good either. No seasoning whatsoever. I had to put salt and lime in it to make it somewhat edible. So we ordered a side of queso. We did like the white queso. But everything was just underwhelming. Our whole meal was $59.16. It definitely wasn’t worth it. I will go back. But strictly for the margaritas and nothing else. I’ll never trust an empty restaurant again, unless I’ve already gone there before. 4 stars for the server, 5 for the atmosphere, 1...
Read moreA friend and I came in on Tuesday early evening and sat at the bar after walking thru a fowl smell from the door to the bar. Not sure what it was or where it was coming from. Usually you can get fairly decent/fast service from the bartender. They weren't busy. Only 2 other tables besides us at the bar. We couldn't tell who was the bartender exactly out of the 3 people coming in and out from behind the bar. We did get chips, salsa, and food menus after about a minute and then nothing, crickets..... we finally asked if we could get water after waiting over 5 mintues when no one really officially asked what we'd like. Then, we waited another 25 minutes before someone asked if we wanted anything else. We were in a hurry by this time as we had a show to catch. We just ordered espinoca and 2 beers. The espinoca was a powdered substance and downright disgusting. Flavorless to boot! We drank our beers and then again waited for our check. This is the 2nd time I've come in. First time I got an entree and wasn't the best, abut i figured I'd give them another shot. After this visit I can honestly say I will not return and will spend my money/time elsewhere. Its heartbreaking because I had waited since pandemic times for this place to open and I wanted to enjoy it, but I just can't. There are too many other restaurants, especially Mexican food restaurants, that are better. Bad food and service. Do not recommend.
With all the positive reviews, especially where there is a picture of the food and you see daylight in the background really makes me feel people are reviewing the incorrect restaurant. There are absolutely no windows...
Read moreIncredibly friendly staff. Very clean restaurant. We arrived shortly before closing and they (from waitress to cook) were willing to seat us so we could enjoy a meal in this restaurant.
Ordered the Shredded Chicken Nachos Rancheros, Shrimp Chimichanga, Cameron’s Al Mojo De Ajo, and the Guacamole Especial. All came out quick and were served very hot, obviously fresh from the kitchen.
Shredded Chicken Nachos Rancheros - massive plate of great taste. Definitely worth the cost.
Shrimp Chimichanga - impressive looking, very large portion size. Person who got the meal in my group didn’t get a chance to dig into it, she got distracted on the other components of the meal and got full on them; saved the chimichanga for a meal later.
Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo - great presentation of a great plate of food. Shrimp were beautifully cooked.
Guacamole Especial - guacamole done right
Complimentary chips were really good. Salsa appeared to be fresh, but needs more spiciness and it was a little runny. Asked for and got their spicy salsa, it had some heat and the addition of heat agents thickened the salsa sufficiently to make it...
