I love this bar. I always feel so comfortable and relaxed when I'm there. It's funny looking back on it now. I was so afraid to ever stop in there for a drink. My very first visit I was so scared to go that I was sick to my stomach. But I agreed to go with my friend anyways and took that first step. Once I got there and everyone started talking to me. I'm horrible with names but I had a lady come up to me not long after being there. She told me that I was part of the "family" there. That if I ever had any trouble to let her know and it would be taken care of. That meant the world to me. That's how it feels when I'm there is I'm just visiting all family. That's how I grew up with my Mom's bar and miss it terribly everyday. I grew up in my Mom's bar. What I miss the most is staying up all night long helping my Mom prepare huge meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every year my Mom would lock the front door and leave the back door unlocked. We would fill both pool tables full of all the fixings. And all the regulars plus anyone else who wanted to show up was always welcome. We celebrated with "family". People still to this day will come up to me if they happen to run in to me at one of the bars I'm at that knew my Mom still talk about and miss those dinners. My mom has been gone since 2003. That makes me feel so good to hear stories or hear others talk about what a kind lady my Mom was and how much of an impact she made on others. I'm the same way as her. That's the type of bars and...
Read moreWow...a friend, who I'll leave nameless, wink wink, asked me to meet her there and have a drink. So I say hell to the yes and I get there and walk in. There she was at the bar, waiting, willing... and wooking wike she was weady to woo woo! So I set down next to her and I order a drink...for me...I learned a long time ago to never buy another man's wife a drink. She says aren't you going to order a drink for me. I says you're husband would probably not be pleased about that. She says don't you think he'll be even more upset if you boink me? I says I have no intention of boinking you. She says well why did you meet me here? I says, because you asked me if I would like to meet you at the tool shed and play around. I told you I would love to! Then I says to the bartender chick, hey bartender chick, we want to play a round. She says great! And brings us both a juke box bingo card and my friend, who I will leave nameless, and I, had a great time playing juke box bingo the rest of the evening!
She screamed out bingo so many times that night you'd have thought she was having one of those big O thingies women are known to have. Yeah I've read about'em, never seen one... as for our night at the Tool Shed?
Yeah...
Read moreWas a kicked back atmosphere. Had 2 pool tables and the bathrooms were clean & homey. Great service but don't go thinking you will get handcrafted cocktails there. I don't think they are real mixologists behind that bar. However they have picnic tables outside in their porch and smokers gather there. Nice stage & the Tool Shed always chooses great local bands. Many things to love about this place. I would say they cater to the 21 to 100 hear old crowd everyone mixes well. I felt "safe" and accepted there being 68 years old myself. I made lots of new friends there that day. I recommend if you enjoy a simple drink or beer there, at least I don't believe you would get shot there! Motorcycle enthusiasts...
