Pete's Repeat — Restaurant in Kasson

I have been to Pete's many times before but tonight was the absolute worst service I have ever experienced ANYWHERE. My mom ordered an appetizer and she they were not what she expected so she sent them back, without eating any of them. When we got the bill, she was charged for the food she didn't eat. When she asked the waitress (who had been extremely rude and snippy all night) she huffed and said "I suppose I can pay for them myself." My mom said "no, that's fine. I will pay for it, I just wanted to check with you." The waitress continued to go on and on about how my mom needed to read the menu before she orders . I had had enough so I asked her to please stop and just run the card. She threw my mom's credit card at her and said "you can just keep that." She then proceeded to make a huge production and go back to the kitchen and grab her purse and pay for the bill at the bar. Extremely unprofessional. Never knew this was an actual dine in restaurant & I've been living in the area since 2017!! I was invited by a friend & her family recently & I've come back on my own already. Man, had we been missing out!! The food that I've tried so far has been amazing! I don't usually eat burgers at dine in restaurants but Pete's mushroom & swiss burger is definitely my favorite!! I add lettuce, tomato & mayo on my burger w/a side of waffle fries for the perfect meal. Portions are huge & the price per meal is way less than you'd pay anywhere else! Normally we have good service and good food. But tonight (3/3/23) my wife and I went in for dinner and we sat at a table for roughly 15 minutes before we got acknowledged. Then after we got our menus and drinks it took another 15-20 minutes before we even ordered our food. Then finally after waiting close to hour all together we finally got our food. My fries were be on cold. My wife had warm cottage cheese with her wrap. I did order a second order of the fish and asked for fresh fries, as well.
