I've been to this place three times before I made this review. Twice to try the ready-to-sell items at the bakery, and then I placed a cake order for my daughter's first birthday. Firstly the retail items are so good! Weâve tried the shooters, mini cakes (almond roca is so freaking good), macaroons and cherry tarts. I love them all. Because we have a really good experience getting items from their retail products, I decided to place an order for my daughters birthday. We ordered a cake for 60 people and a tiny one for my daughter to smash. The tiny cake was delicious - the flavor was lemonberry. My daughter literally ate half of it Now for the big cake for 60 people - the top tier was cookies and cream and the bottom tier was whipped berry Chantilly. The design was great and it came out very cute. However, to be honest we were slightly disappointed and I'm going to explain why. We learned from from the retail cake that you have to leave the cake out in room temperature for hours before the buttercream becomes a softer texture. We left the cake sitting out for display for about 6 1/2 hours before we sang happy birthday and cut into it. These are the issues I had with the cake: The buttercream was still pretty hard I think it needed another two hours, and the layer of buttercream was just a tad too thick so I think that's why it it was still hard. My other issue was that everytime I cut into the cake for a slice, the cake would crumble which was why I didn't give 5 stars. I'm not sure what happened to the sponge. I would definitely go back for their retail menu but I'm not sure if I would order...
Read moređ¤ŹOMG!!!!!! I ordered a cake that had a picture of it on their website, and I asked for it to be exactly like that one. It was for my 55 year old mother inlaws birthday, who loves dark purple and blue colors and mermaids. It was a surprise party. I even have text messages from me to the owner, making sure how I wanted it. ( click on the pics, and you can read what she asked me in the text message and what i said) "I wanted it exactly like the picture online. Well....... when it was picked up, it was mostly HOT PINK WITH NO MERMAID TALE ON TOP LIKE THE PICTURE HAD!!??? It cost over $250, and all she said was she had the right to use an artistic license to change it up if she wanted. My mother inlaw, I could see disappointed and shocked that it was hot pink ( SHE HATES HOT PINK!!!!) and the mermaid theam did not really pop to mind. It just looked like a fish/under the sea cake. NOT really a mermaid them. But she was still grateful and said thank you to me.
But the cake looked like something for a 10 year old NOT a 55 year old mom and grandmother. When I tried texting her after my mom picked it up to ask what happened, she said she was to busy with doing two weeding cakes and would touch base with me later. SHE NEVER TEXTED OR CALLED BACK.
IM ADDING THE PIC OF WHAT I WANTED AND WHAT I GOT. WHAT DO YALL THINK??? The first pic is what I ordered, and the second one is what i got. âšď¸âšď¸âšď¸ the more I look at them, the saddier I get. I will not be going...
Read moreExcessively priced shop with okay cakes, definitely donât taste great. Itâs all about how it looks but lacks taste and no sense of customer service. Just to give you a perspective itâs all icing and hardly any cake. This little cake that we picked up was $40!! When I asked them if they had one of the small birthday stakes to put in the cake, she tried to sell me another $10 paper thingy! I explained I was looking for those simple complimentary ones that you get at any bakery shops, after all I thought this was a cake shop.. and she acted as if I was talking a different language. She then said perhaps she could have them write on it and I was okay with that, then she said that she was told the writing gal is gone, so they canât do anything with it. I was like whatever since i was in a hurry⌠but I left feeling that $40 was so overly priced, the checkout gal seem to concur. However, I hoped that the cake would at least taste good. Unfortunately we were disappointed when it came to tasting, the icing was thick and the little bit of cake that was inside doesnât taste all that and really isnât worth the price! If you just want something that looks pretty and donât care about the taste and can afford to over pay, then go here else itâs a hard pass in my opinion. I would say heb or even target does way better for last minute and good taste! I have also tried chocolate bar by university that isnât as expensive as this, but their cakes and deserts are outstanding in...
