I went to try it out this place because of the google ratings and the review on tiktok by tourist. The food presentation and quality is beautiful however the taste is just plain water down sweetness. The lady who took down my order didn't care to tell me they don't make papaya mild spicy nor spicy. When I asked her if I can have my papaya spicy she acknowledged but still made my papaya order non spicy and plain. My sil we both order papaya combo and both our papaya taste the same. The Thai tea was the only thing that tasted authentic. The curry had 4 piece of chicken and 4 leafs of basil only. The rest was cabbage. The seller probably thought we were people who didn't know how Thai food should taste like. We didn't finish the food. We end up tossing it away and we had to look for their trashcan because they don't have a shared trashcan and they hid their trashcan in the back of their food truck. We only knew it belong to them because it was label " thai food" . I honestly wouldn't recommend this food truck to anyone who wants Thai food and is visiting Kauai. Its a waste of money. They were greedy with utensils and napkins. Instead please support the food truck that is across from them. He's a gentleman who was handing out samples with a wonderful customer service. He was willing to give me extra napkins and...
Read moreI was excited to try some thai food and heard about this food truck. Even after reading some of the bad reviews, I thought I would give it a try because I really wanted the papaya salad. First, the lady who took our order was not friendly, at all. She made us feel like we were wasting her time. I ordered the papaya salad anyway. I noticed that after ordering, she never asked how spicy I would like my order, so I asked if I could please have 3 or 2 stars on my salad. As I stepped back to wait, she said something in thai to another lady in the truck, making fun of me about how I don't look like i can handle the spice. Now I am thai but might not look like it. So maybe she assumed I wouldn't understand. But I still kept my cool and didn't say anything. Now for the actual food rating. The papaya salad was very, very sweet with no flavors. I actually had to ask for more pepper flakes to add to it. What a disappointment! Not only the service sucked, but so did the food! And I really hope this is not how they really treat their paying customers. Because I know most thai people are very polite and nice. I gave a 1 star for service because at least she...
Read moreAnatta’s sits tucked into a shared open-air space with a handful of other food truck restaurants. Don’t let the casual picnic tables fool you—the pad thai rivals (and maybe even tops) any I’ve had. We ordered it with shrimp, and they were impressive: large, fresh, and perfectly grilled. The noodles were just right, with a generous crunch of peanuts and bean sprouts.
The fried rice turned out to be the unexpected favorite of my ultra-picky companion. The chicken sticks won us over with their smoky char and flavorful sauce. Every dish was so good we nearly kept eating past full, but the portions were huge, so half of it came home with us. Lucky for us—that means breakfast is already taken care of.
We’ve still got a few more days on the island, and Anatta’s has already earned a spot for a...
