I saw this place driving through Keene and I had to stop by! I'm giving 5 starts because of the authenticity, customer service, and cleanliness of this little bakery. Taste wise, it is delicious, but not what I was expecting to be honest. The baked goods are not as airy and fluffy as I was expecting. The chocolate cake I received was more firm, and dense. This might be a cultural thing that their baked goods are less sweet, and more firm which I do not want to hate on at all! I wanted a cinnamon roll, but someone before be came in and bought all of them - as a business owner, I would maybe tell guest that they cannot buy all of something at one time so other customers have a chance to purchase as well. I am pretty sure you can call ahead and preorder something, so I would suggest the staff suggest that as an option. They must be good cinnamon rolls! I bought a few different things since it was my first time, the woman in the front was very nice but did not speak English, so she had to get the baker from the back to help me, which she did! Then I met the owner I believe and she spoke English and was very sweet and educated me on their business. The only thing I was disappointed about was the chocolate cake. It was pretty stiff, and not very rich in chocolate flavor. The baker did decorate it for me, which made it taste way better than if I were to have bought it on its own. I am extremely sensitive and picky to textures, and suppleness. I was a bit disappointed it wasn't super soft like Nothing Bundt Cakes bundt-tinis just melt in your mouth. Other than that, it was delicious! If you like to try different types of food and baked goods, I would come here and try it out. I hear the cinnamon rolls are fantastic, so that's what I'm going to...
Read moreThe drive from Waco to this bakery located in Keene, Tx was around 45 minutes, but it was worth it. I highly recommend you visit this place and try their pastries and sandwiches as they are delicious! They have most of the traditional Puerto Rican pastries like pastelillos de guayaba and quesitos. They also have budin con pasas, tembleque, flan and much more. They even have limbers in the traditional flavors we love like tamarindo, coco, parcha, and mango, among other yummy flavors. Of course, they also make delicious bread or pan de bollo like we call it in Puerto Rico. I love the fact that you can customize your sandwich in so many ways and that they offer vegetarian alternatives. We tried the baked turkey and the biftec sandwich and they were so good! They also offer freshly squeezed orange juice and we loved it. The thing I liked the most was their frituras. We got some delicious alcapurrias and rellenos de papa and it felt like we were back home. You must try them! Keene Texas is lucky to have this panaderia. We would love to have them in Waco. Will definitely...
Read moreSuper cute little bakery right off Old Betsy. We ordered a ham and turkey as well as the pastrami sandwich. I usually do my best to be completely honest with my reviews, so I have to say they forgot the meat in the pastrami sandwhich. However! After bringing it back up and explaining they apologized and had a new sandwhich made asap as well as offered me a free loaf of bread, which I tried to pay for but they insisted i take it as recompense. Everyone makes mistakes, but usually with the big chain stores you're lucky if they will even admit it let alone try to make it right. Sweet Spot Bakery excelled at both and that's why we will be returning, not to mention their sandwiches are 10x better than subway across the street for...
