I ordered the evil jungle prints, and I’ve never had this dish taste so bland before. I’ve ordered this dish numerous times from other restaurants and it comes with a delicious coconut curry sauce that the vegetables and rice come with and this was very bland and dry, very flavorless. I was most of the way done and then the waitress came by and asked if the food was OK I commented where is all the curry and coconut sauce and she said this is how it comes. I’ve been eating Thai food for years numerous restaurants make evil jungle prints I have never had a worse experience with bland, boring food that has no sauce with it at a Thai restaurant. Then this place I would highly recommend not coming here and choosing another Thai restaurant in town pretty much any other Thai restaurant in town was better than this . I ate about 1/3 of the food because it’s too expensive to throw away. Realistically I’m going to go buy some coconut milk and go home and add it to the curry that I have and see if I can fix this dish because $17 is way too expensive for some rice and vegetables to be...
Read moreI’d read good reviews about Sandee Thai, but I was still a bit skeptical. After some underwhelming experiences at other Thai spots in the Salem/Keizer area, I wasn’t sure if this place would be any different. But I’m so glad I gave it a shot. I decided to splurge on their Crab Fried Rice, even though I hesitated when I saw the $18 price tag. How could you go wrong with real Dungeness crab though, right?
When I went to pick it up, I was completely blown away—the takeout box must have weighed a good 3-4 pounds! I wondered if I’d accidentally ordered enough for a small family, but their portions are just that generous. The smell of fresh crab was so irresistible that I raced home, barely able to wait to dig in. Before inhaling it, I snapped a quick pic of the takeout box next to my laptop for scale, lol. Let me tell you, it was worth every penny. With friendly service to top it all off, I’ll definitely be back to explore more...
Read moreSo I must say the exterior did not look like much and upon walking in with my girlfriend it was pretty awkward because you're not greeted like at most restaurants. No welcome or hello, just menus put on a table and told to sit here.
The reason they're getting five stars is the food was absolutely amazing. Not only did they use high quality bok choy, peapods and chinese cabbage in my tilapia silver noodles(woon sen), but the portion was ridiculously large for the money especially. I've never seen that much protein in any Thai noodle dish ever. The flavor was really good as well as to not use too much sugar or too much soy sauce. It had a very light and fresh flavorful profile. The chicken satay was also equally flavorful and the cucumber salad was a nice touch. Definitely...
