Had a pretty bad experience with the staff here, and honestly, the food wasnât that great either. Pie Five is supposed to be like a Subway for pizza â you pick your ingredients and they make it in front of you â but the staff clearly arenât paying attention or taking care in what theyâre doing.
When I got home, I realized I was given the wrong pizza: just ham and mozzarella with no sauce. Definitely not what I ordered. I went back up there right away (after only one slice was eaten), and they told me they couldnât do anything since it had been âeaten.â Then they insisted they âmade it exactly how I asked,â even though I know I didnât ask for a dry pizza with just ham and cheese. The only time I stepped away was to deal with my car door not closing properly, which took maybe a minute â but even then, a pizza like that should have raised red flags to anyone paying attention.
I ended up getting the managerâs number and gave it to my mom. When she called, they made zero effort to fix the situation. Instead of reviewing what actually happened, they just said âwe have you on camera ordering thatâ â which, again, doesnât make sense given the order and how little time I was gone.
To make things worse, the food handling practices here are seriously concerning. I watched multiple employees handle raw meats, veggies, and toppings without changing gloves or cleaning the prep surface in between. Meats were being mixed together, vegetables got dragged through leftover toppings, and there was no separation between items for different pizzas. I had to ask them more than once to remove bacon bits that ended up on a pizza that was supposed to only have sausage, pepperoni, and hamburger. It wasnât just a mistake â it was a pattern of careless cross-contamination that makes it hard to trust anything they make.
And this isnât a one-time issue. On previous visits, Iâve received pizzas that were raw and gooey in the middle â completely undercooked.
The price also doesnât match the quality. You can get a larger, better-made pizza somewhere else for the same amount. Between the wrong order, the refusal to fix it, and the serious food safety concerns, I wonât be coming back â and I wouldnât recommend it to anyone...
Read moreGreat Concept, Unprofessional Management. As a business professional with years of experience growing successful businesses, I understand that mistakes happen. But how a company handles them reveals everything about its leadership, values, and, more importantly, its integrity.
We placed an order at Pie Five for six small pizzas totaling $78. My husband and I texted our specific orders to our son: I wanted a hamburger with red sauce and cheese; he wanted double pepperoni. All the pizzas were correct except mine. Instead of hamburger with red sauce and cheese, I received a dry pizza with white cheese and Canadian bacon, no sauce, and no hamburger.
I tried to eat it but couldnât get past a single bite. It was that bad. My husband encouraged my son to return it so they could correct the error. The employees called their manager, who refused to remake it because I had "taken a bite," as though tasting a product to confirm itâs inedible voids the issue.
I called the manager using the number provided by staff. After being hung up on twice, I left a voicemail. A woman returned my call and confirmed she was the manager. I expressed frustration politely at first, but her response was dismissive, rude, and wholly unprofessional. She claimed to have reviewed footage showing âsomeoneâ ordering a plain cheese pizza with Canadian bacon, then said sheâd send the footage to prove it.
That footage never came. It's likely because it doesn't exist. My son read the order directly from my text, and every other pizza was exactly as ordered. None of us eat Canadian bacon.
All of this over a single $13 pizza that wouldâve cost them $3 to $5 to remake. Instead, this manager chose to insult a longtime customer, lie to cover a mistake, and ultimately lose our familyâs business, one that frequently brought friends and covered large orders. Thatâs poor judgment, bad leadership, and, frankly, just bad business. Poor business practices with zero integrity are especially bad for the community.
We will never return. Everybody in our party agrees, they will never...
Read moreAlright, I waited for over a week to see if anything would be done about a disrespectful employee, and I've seen not evidence of that so I'm posting this negative review.
We ordered 4 pizzas, and one was done incorrectly. No big deal, we can work it out, right? This young man who works the front counter went completely defensive and went berzerk within 5 seconds. He claimed that the other employee had been there a long time and "didn't make mistakes". We could get behind everyone else and re-order if "we didn't like what he was saying". He took out a business card from the front, which had the owner's name on it, and said he didn't care if we called the owner and complained. We tried to talk with him about this to just resolve the wrong order, and he walked away from us, threw his hands in the air in front of the customers behind us, and yells, "I'M SORRY FOLKS...I'M SO SORRY THAT YOU HAVE TO ALL WAIT BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE WANT TO ARGUE WITH ME!"
My wife and I just looked at him, and said, "calm down". He responds, "I'm not calming down for anybody, buddy!" I asked for his name, and he responds, "My name is whatever you want it to be, buddy". I told him my name wasn't 'buddy', and that I wanted a refund. "I'm not giving you a refund, buddy!".
At that point, I just decided to call the owner on the business card. I told the young man that I would guarantee him that I'd handle this with his manager. He responded, "you aren't going to handle anything, buddy!" Just a completely unhinged individual. I'd suggest to everyone to find someplace else to spend your $$ until his management either gets rid of him, or offers counseling.
-EDIT- After reading through some other reviews, I have no doubt there's something not right with the racial attitudes of management and staff. I'd like to thank Lowkey Pluto for the review. My wife is black, and I suspected this kid's attitude was rooted in racism as well. Now, I think it's confirmed after reading...
