My wife and I decided to try this place today for the first time since it opened as Yolkville cafe and I must say I way very happily surprised with the service, quality of the food, and the price. Note that I am not into paying over $20 per person for lunch so I was surpised to see very reasonable prices throughout the menu. At that point, I was not expecting much in terms of a lunch but to my surprise, the food was excellent not only in terms of quality but quantity also. I had pancakes and my wife had the fish taco and we both were full with plenty of leftover for at least another meal. To top that, the service was excellent. The waitress was genuinely interested in accommodating all our needs and took the time to explain the various items on the menu.
So for: 1- Excellent Food, 2- Reasonable prices. 3- Great service. I highly recommend this restaurant in Yorkville, IL. That was my experience and I hope...
Read moreFood is good, not great ,service is iffy. We went for the first time a year ago and the waitress was not very friendly or attentive (she's still there), the second time was a week ago. This waitress was friendly and more attentive, but took awhile to get my husband his butter for his grits, so he resorted to the applebutter that was on the table. Not a good alternative. Also, when my food came I asked about the dry muffin from the menu. She argued that it didn't come with my option, but it was at the top of the menu that would indicate it goes with all the options. To her defense, even though she argued at first, she did bring me the muffin and was very kind about it. Last year I had a spinach, feta, tomato omelet that was tasteless. This year I had oatmeal and eggs over easy,...

The hostess should not place customers right next to the entrance to the kitchen where the bussers are taking care of the silverware, dishes, etc. and staff is having conversations. Especially when the customer has indicated that they wanted to sit in another booth, away from the kitchen, next to the window. We got led to pretty much the worst seat in a pretty empty restaurant. Next time I'll just say no, not there, but they should know better. I've never been there before so how...
