Burger King — Restaurant in Kenedy

I walked in and there was no one else in the restaurant . I stood at the counter for several minutes while being ignored by the staff who were putting together orders for the drive through. I get that they had other customers at the drive through but at least acknowledge my presence. The manager finally looked up and said, "someone will be with you in a minute sir". Once I gave them my order, the food was out in about 5 minutes. The food is pretty much the same from one burger king to another so if a location is to distinguish itself it will be based on service and cleanliness. This location didn't impress me with its service and when I sat down with my food I rested my forearm on a sticky table top. Strike two! At least the burger and fries were good and the raspberry icee is always a welcome thirst quencher on a hot Texas afternoon. In my experience with retail and fast food bad customer service is usually the fault of management. This location could be a much better store with a little bit of training and a manager who cares. It took a while to have our order taken as we were paying cash so skipped the computer ordering station. Plus we're old, and my husband hates those machines. Burgers and fries were hot and tasty and prepared exactly as ordered, but literally every table was dirty with crumbs or greasy smears so we settled for the less is better option. (Only 1 other table occupied.) They have an all-in-one drink machine. When I used the machine it dispensed well, but it also spit out hard, black, pepper looking residue all over the rim of my drink. When I asked for a new drink filled from behind the counter and showed them the residue they simply dumped out the contents and refilled the same cup. Ewwww. Lol. Hubby shared his tea with me (no tea in the machine - filled behind counter) so all was good. Getting in and out was easy and the restrooms...

Cashier was friendly and i hate to give a bad review, but during a global pandemic, you would think the place would be a little cleaner. I understand fast food restaurants are always dirty, but im pretty sure there are some certain standards and guidelines they are supposed to be following right now. They swept up a PILE of dirt and just left it in the middle of the restaurant. Not sure what that was about. Not one person could finish cleaning it up? Tables looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days. I wiped it up myself with my sanitizer and the napkins were black. In my personal opinion, i think they should close the dining area completely.
