The menu here is massive. It’s sushi, fusion, steak, fried food, etc. They might benefit from color-coding the menus to make it easier to navigate.
The “nachos” were delicious wonton tostadas, and I would definitely get them again. The calamari was a bit bready and overcooked—I would go with the squid next time. The rings slid right out of the breading when biting into them, they were on the chewy side and under-seasoned. We got a complimentary bite of crispy rice with tuna, which was delicious. I’d order it if it were on the menu.
My husband went with the lobster fried rice, which was an absolutely massive portion. It was tasty, but I missed the green onions I saw in other photos. I got filet and Parmesan truffle fries. The steak was much better than it looked…I wasn’t expecting it to be marinated and butterflied, and they weren’t expecting me to order it rare. So it photographs poorly because it had no sear. I guess you could ask for a steak that isn’t marinated, otherwise maybe get it medium for any sort of sear on it. But it was incredibly tender and cut with a butter knife, so I really had no problem with it. The fries were bland, and tasted how they look.
In general, there are some hits and misses, which is to be expected with a menu this size. The sushi is all comparably expensive for the area, but the rolls are more elaborate. I hope they find their groove and figure out how to advertise effectively. We also went before they had any alcohol. Some sort of drink special would be good, especially for weekend brunch when they are competing for the southern, bottomless mimosa brunch crowd.
There are still several menu items I need to try, so I will definitely be back. But this is a trial-and-error sort of place where you need to figure out how to order the best stuff and get some bang for your buck off of this giant...
Read moreLove the variety of items. Something for everyone. Maybe a few more veggie items can be added but the menu is extensive. You’ll probably want multiple things. 2 full menus. One Hibachi and one Sushi. Very clean and new. Not busy at all. All table top and bar top seating but it’d be nice if there were some booths. There’s plenty of room for it. Clean restrooms, friendly service and fast food. Good complimentary bread. Didn’t love the bday ice cream but we appreciate the song and dessert. Feels good to be considered on your bday.
Parmesan Fries-Good and Hot-Fair price. A bit thin, could’ve been a thicker cut.
Veggie Fried- 10/10the reviews were right. Of the best fried rice I’ve ever tasted-Good Value. We got full off of it.
Steak, mixed veggies and Slaw-cooked well, tender and tasty. Cooked to correct temperature. Fair value. The slaw was a bit too creamy. It wasn’t terrible. Veggies great. Teriyaki flavor on them so if you want without sauce-speak up.
Sushi Rolls-No issue there. At around $19 per, you’d pick two of these and an appetizer or an entree and an appetizer. About $50 per is easy to spend here. But you don’t have too cause there’s affordable meals in the 20 dollar range. We were excited to try multiple things
They have daily specials that are great especially when just opening. Good cold salad and I like the house dressing. Our server Matt and staff were very nice and top tier professional.
I feel like this place will do well once everyone is aware. Continue to push marketing and get one more powerful know store that brings some attraction. I’d recommend this place and come back. Great plates...
Read moreIf Teddy Roosevelt were around today, I’m pretty sure he’d say “Speak softly and carry a big chopstick”—because Chopped just redefined what sushi and steak should be.
Took the wife and the son out for dinner, and let me tell you, this place isn’t your average fusion experiment. No sir. This was surf, turf, and sushi executed with the precision of a Marine drill team and the boldness of a Declaration signer.
The sushi? So fresh it could’ve jumped off the plate and back into the ocean. The steak? Cooked to perfection—if Eisenhower had eaten this at Camp David, the Cold War might’ve cooled off a little sooner. And the lobster? Let’s just say the Pilgrims would’ve built Plymouth Rock around it.
The service? Top notch. Our server wasn’t just quick and sharp — she was downright hilarious. Felt like dinner and a show. She had the timing of Johnny Carson and the instincts of a battlefield medic—always there before we knew we needed her.
And the portions? Huge. Like, Founding Fathers-writing-the-Constitution levels of commitment. No one leaves Chopped hungry or unimpressed.
Bottom line: If you believe in liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and stuffing your face with world-class food while laughing with your family, Chopped is your new go-to. We’ll be...
