2 Stars because the fish and hushpuppies were good. Beyond that, the service was poor, the server was friendly but neglectful and acted extremely overwhelmed. She also complained about other customers not leaving tips which I found to be highly unprofessional. The servers were also not wearing any face masks and they were handling plates and drinks with their bare hands with, seemingly, no regard whatsoever of the current pandemic situation.
The restaurant ambience is depressing, i.e., the lighting is harsh florescent and there is no music or anything to help create any sort of relaxing atmosphere. It was also very cold in the restaurant. Every time the front door opened the temperature immediately dropped to distractingly uncomfortable levels.
It just feels like the owners of the business don't genuinely care about actually creating a pleasant dining out experience for their customers overall. We will not be returning to or recommending the...
Read moreBig Herb has noticed this place being fairly busy on his Sunday travels through Kennett. So today the wife and I decided to see what the fuss was all about. We weren't disappointed. We were greeted immediately upon entering with smiles. We found our table and began conversation with our server Amber. It was glorious from the start. Amber took our drink order, brought us menus and silverware. We looked over the menu while the drinks arrived. The wife chose the chicken tenders and fries. I had the 3 piece catfish plate. I chose okra and side salad with ranch for my 2 sides. Her plate came with hush puppies but she put them on my plate. The food came quick! The environment was laid back. Very clean. All the staff was cool. Amber's service was strong throughout the experience. Big Herb strongly recommends this place if you're hungry and want a quality meal at a value. Solid gold! We will be back again to explore the...
Read moreThe food has been good on the occasions I've been there. Service has been friendly and prompt. Very good portions for the price and Ilike that they have a drive up window. The only thing that concerns me is how the wait staff talks about the tips they got (or didn't get) rather loudly in the dining area in front of guests. I understand that some customers tip more or less than others but discussing the tips within earshot of other customers is tacky to me. I think we're all doing what we can at the moment and people should be doing some sort of tipping or the food prices should increase so the wait staff don't have to depend on the tips. Otherwise no...
