I've eaten here a handful of times and have found previous visits to be quite good. This time... not so much.
We ordered using their website which was delivered with Grub Hub. It originally said 80 to 85 minutes for delivery but we received our food in about 60 minutes. The delivery person was quite pleasant and we received text updates which I liked.
Our food arrived and was luke warm which isn't unexpected with delivery. Unfortunately, I ordered (and paid for) a side of BBQ sauce to my dip fries in and it was missing from my order. Also, my fries were overcooked and my black bean burger was just... average. I like ordering from here because they have a vegetarian burger and my entire family and I can share a meal together without inconvenience of substitutions and strange requests vegetarians often have to make.
My husband ate Monday's Burger of the Day, the Mac Attack. The picture on Facebook made it look much better than it arrived. My husband said his burger was just average as well. The Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese bites is what drew my husband in but he said it tasted just like a regular burger.
This is the first just average meal we've had here but I can't ignore the decrease in quality over past visits. This, coupled with the missing sauce and burnt fries is the reason I gave them...
Read moreI think this has to be the best burger joint in Kenosha and that's saying a lot because there are some pretty good ones (Grabs, Captain Mike's, Milwaukee Burger, etc.). I tried The Garage's Muffler Plug, which is a medium-grilled burger stuffed with bbq pork and jalapeños and topped with bacon, cheddar and a fried egg. While it sounds like a little much to be on one bun, it worked well together and was absolutely fantastic. The sides were also really, really good. I loved the jalapeño bites and fried pickles and they each came with three different dipping sauces. This place is called The Garage and it looks and feels like you're in a garage. Nothing fancy here at all. Seems like a place you'd go after a long day on the assembly line . The beer selection was great and the staff is very knowledgeable and attentive to everyone in the bar. I really don't have anything bad to say about this place. They only accept cash and I'd say it's a fair value for what you're getting. Dinner for two with drinks and appetizers will probably run you about $50. If you feel like having a great burger in a friendly, no-frills atmosphere, I think you're going to...
Read moreI used to frequent this place, at least once a week being I live a few blocks away. Food was much better before the fire. The first month or two after being re-opened, I expected some hiccups and kept coming back. The new kitchen staff, with the exception of Calvin, just don't seem to be too experienced. From overcooked burgers to almost completely rare burgers, you never know what you're gonna get. The "burger of the week" seems to have lost the creativity they once had. Also, why doesn't your flat top grill get cleaned DAILY??? I've been in right when the place opened and the stainless steel flat top is black. Those things need to be cleaned every single day, it's not a Blackstone that needs a seasoning layer. As for now, I'm unfortunately taking my burger needs elsewhere. Maybe I'll give it another shot 6+ months from now. I've maybe eaten 3 or 4 good burgers out of probably 20 since they re-opened. Sad to see such a great place go so far down hill. No wonder the parking lot is almost always empty, except on...
