Read moreI visited Angar Indian Kitchen on Saturday evening, May 10, 2025, and decided to dine in. While the dining area wasn’t particularly busy, I noticed a steady stream of takeout orders coming in throughout the evening—a clear sign that the food has built a loyal following. For my meal, I ordered shikanji, pani puri (gol guppe), and Amritsari fish pakora—and let me tell you, the food genuinely exceeded my expectations. The pani puri was the absolute star of the evening. From the very first bite, I was taken straight back to the vibrant streets of Punjab, where street vendors serve gol guppe bursting with flavor. These were perfectly balanced—sweet, spicy, tangy—all in one bite. What truly made it unforgettable was the pani (flavored water). I’ve had pani puri at countless Indian restaurants across the U.S., but this was the most authentic I’ve ever tasted. The pani had such a deep, refreshing flavor—it was exactly like what you’d get back home. I honestly could’ve kept eating it nonstop. The Amritsari fish pakora had a lovely crisp exterior and tender, flaky fish inside. It was delicious, though I personally felt it could benefit from a touch more authentic flavor—maybe a sprinkle of shredded radish on the side would elevate it even further. As for the shikanji, it was the perfect companion—cool, citrusy, lightly spiced, and incredibly refreshing.
The staff was polite and helpful, though nothing particularly stood out service-wise. Still, their warm and courteous attitude was appreciated. The space itself was clean and simply decorated with a welcoming vibe, though I did notice the bathroom could use a bit more attention.
That said, what truly made this experience memorable was the food—flavorful, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. You can tell there’s real heart in the cooking. This place has a ton of potential if they continue to maintain the taste and fine-tune small details like overall cleanliness.
I’m definitely looking forward to returning to try more dishes from their menu. If you’re someone who loves authentic Desi street food, especially pani puri done right, then Angar Indian Kitchen deserves a spot at the top...
Read moreThe restaurant was not that busy. Had only 2 table that only one were already enjoying their food, the other table had 4 people and they were there at least 15 minutes before me, and I waited for almost for 45 minutes and they still did not get their food. That is ridiculous, and unacceptable.
Then the customer service, they have none. It is not a customer service. The person that is in the front, that meets incoming customers, or take orders from tables, is a rude, crude, primitive, ignorant to meaning of customers service. Non greeting ,non welcoming, no etiquette, no manners. Will close your appetite immediately.
So if you are willing to put up with all these bad qualities and bad behaviors from this person in the front, then you are up for another challenge to your patience. The length, and the time it takes for your food to get to you.
My time is very valuable., and it was wasted here in a terrible way.
Good customer service coupled with good food are very important, but you will find none here.
There are other several good Indian restaurants around in this area.
Other restaurants have really good food, and good customer service.
I want to go where cusomers are appreciated, and valued , not where they are reluctantly serving their customers and where they are not happy to see more customers walking in.
But I came here because I saw several 5 stars reviews.
Total disappointment.
Portions of food are decent, but the Food was terrible. After all that time waiting. It was not worth it.
It was a total waste of...
