El Mazatlan Bar & Grill #9 — Restaurant in Kentucky

Wow. I’m normally a huge fan of El Maz. Well that has all changed.

The El Maz here in Franklin just delivered the worst all around service I ever experienced at an El Maz. I will preface it by saying we were in the restaurant for less then 20 minutes. Once seated we ordered immediately because we eat there quite often, and know exactly what we want. The food then arrive less then 6 minutes after ordering. Meaning this food obviously had been sitting and was not cooked fresh. The food was completely incorrect, both dishes. This was brought to the waiters attention. He proceeded to argue with us both that we had ordered what was brought out. Eventually he decided to take the food back and bring the correct dishes. The dishes were then brought out less then five minutes after returning the incorrect dishes. The image below depicts one of the dishes that was brought out uncooked. A chimi special was ordered. Which is a deep fried burrito. As you can see from the image below the burrito was not cooked. When this was brought to the managers attention I was told this is how it is supposed to look. Very different from the dish I normally get. Which is cooked and not a slimy soggy tortilla shell. The manager continued to argue that this is how the dish should be cooked. Eventually we got tired of arguing and asked for to go boxes to take the food home and cook it ourselves. This was met with much disdain from the waiter. Who proceeded to act very rude and unprofessional.

All and all if I could give them zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere the food is...

Best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to! So pleased with the food quality and taste! The service was beyond amazing. The facility was extra clean. Normally when I go out to eat with my 9 month old daughter it can be a bit stressful and some waiters get annoyed with the mess she makes. We ALWAYS clean up her mess before leaving, but I am sure the waiters think we will just leave it so they are annoyed with us from the start. Not once did they get bothered by my daughter learning to eat and everyone stopped by to talk to her and entertain her. It provided me time to actually eat my food! So grateful. When we started cleaning up her mess the wait staff stopped us and told us not to do that. They said they would take care of it. I cleaned up anyway, but I love that they reassured me that my tiny human isn't a bother to society. 20/10 recommend...

Great Mexican restaurant in the small town of Franklin, Kentucky! We've lived in this area for 5 years and only found out about El Mazatlan recently when friends of ours took us there for dinner. The food is very good. It's always served fresh and hot. We absolutely love their chips and queso. The prices are very reasonable with an average combination plate. Being around $11. It's become our favorite and we go there or get takeout at least once or twice a week. I highly recommend mostly everything that's on the menu. As far as dessert don't order the fried ice cream. It's not real fried ice cream and we ordered it once and it certainly wasn't what we were expecting. Service as always, fast and friendly and the restaurant is very clean. So glad we found this...
