Can never go wrong with a Dairy Queen choice. Today the dining room is closed, so I use the drive through for my Flamming Burger and Blizzard. The experience goes like this: verbalize what I want while looking at a sign and hope I am heard correctly. Drive to a hole in the wall covered by glass. At some point the glass slides open and a hand and arm appear to accept the credit card. Minutes later, this hand and arm hand me the Blizzard and burger. Then, I drive away from the glass covered hole in the wall and head home. Life in COVID days! 😆
Update 27JUL2022. Went inside and ordered a Blizzard. Not in a hurry to get back to the house, I sat down and enjoyed the Blizzard. 😃
Update 06JAN2023. Went inside to order a Flamethrower and a Blizzard. Both were good. At the table, the wrong burger was delivered and no Blizzard. I asked about the Blizzard. Took a bite of the burger and it's a triple something--not what I ordered. Up to the counter I go. Another person was there with the wrong burger too. Yeah, right burgers and wrong tables! After waiting for a new Flamethrower, I can observe attitudes and an apparent lack of training. My Flamethrower is made, but still no Blizzard. Then, I'm told I can't have a Blizzard with chocolate ice cream and Heath bar. What! I've ordered this several times here and at other DQ's. We start the refund process. Only one person knows how to do this. While a Bowling Green employee is logging-in to do the refund, I asked about the Blizzard. She tells me it can be made that way, no problem. My receipt indicates chocolate and Heath bar. So I ask to stop the refund and make the Blizzard. This same gal made my burger and Blizzard. I got what I ordered, but why all the drama? If you are the owner reading this, please improve training for employees.
Update 06MAY2023. Was in the area and decided to stop for a Blizzard. Ordered a small chocolate with Heath bar--my usual. Was asked if I wanted hot fudge in my Blizzard. Huh? Something sounded not quite right and given my last experience here (see the previous update), I changed my mind and left the store. For years I've been able to get a Blizzard made with chocolate ice cream and Heath bar; but, for some reason the Dairy Queen closest to my house can't do this. I have no idea what's wrong.
Update 12AUG2024. Have been here twice since the last update. Today, I ordered a cheeseburger and a Blizzard with chocolate ice cream and Heath bar. The gal made the best Blizzard yet! Cheeseburger hit the spot too. Nice work DQ...
Read moreI have always enjoyed Dairy queen. The service at this location has really let me down. They focus 90% of their effort on the drive-thru customers and limiting the time for pending orders that come through the drive-thru. That means pulling cars forward every single time. On our last visit we went inside with small group. The ice cream machine was down, we understood this and decided to purchase an ice cream cake from the coolers. When the ice cream machine is down the online orders are blocked for the location. This means I was not able to use a coupon for the cake that I had and the manager would not honor it since it was mobile only. That was fine. When it came time for us to eat the cake they had no method to cut the cake or serve it. I spent more time at the counter trying to ask for an option for us to be able to eat the cake then I did sitting down eating my food. The manager never came to the counter until the point where I asked for her specifically after waiting at the counter for about 20 minutes. And then ask for a refund since the cake cannot been opened and we were not going to be able to eat it. I was told the only way to receive a refund was for the whole order to be refunded and then I would have to repurchase my food that was already eaten. It would also take 5 business days for my refund to hit my account. Understandably this made me irritated. But I calmly asked that she figure out a different option as I did not want to do that. She contacted the assistant manager and there was no alternative resolution given to me. I was then advised that their store manager was on vacation and would be back in 2 days and I would have to take the ice cream cake home and bring it back to return it when the store manager was there for a different resolution. Thankfully a family with our group offered to buy the cake from me because they had a birthday party the next day that they needed a cake for anyway. My advice, do not sell food that cannot be eaten in your lobby. You need a way of serving what you sell. This is basic courtesy and service. At least a $5.00 cake spatula. Stop pulling customers forward when there are no cars behind them. If you're the night manager, and you have a Lobby full of customers your face should be seen at least once. For how profitable Dairy Queen is, it should have been no problem for the manager to refund the entire order in such a situation when the cake was the majority...
Read moreWe ordered 2 Blizzard's a small Reese's cup and a large strawberry shortcake. When we pulled up to the window and paid, they came back to the drive thru window and they hand out the strawberry shortcake blizzard and it turned out to be a medium and then they hand out the Reese's cup and it too was a medium. We told the employee about the mix up and she said no this is what you ordered, we explained to her that was incorrect and told her again our order and she told her manager what was going on and the manager told us that this is what you paid for, this is what you get. Not wanting to argue we pull off to the parking lot to eat them and when we do the Reese's cup blizzard had 3 little pieces of Reese's and the rest was just ice cream with nothing in it so my wife went in and talked to the manager and my wife explained the situation and the manager looked at it and I see a piece.. my wife told her that in a large blizzard you only a piece of Reese's cup in the whole thing and it's not mixed up with solid white ice cream on the bottom. Tired of arguing with them she set the blizzard down on the counter and she walked out. Meanwhile I'm in the car and she told me what happened and we left, I didn't go in because it's not worth arguing with them. They just lost loyal customers that have been going there for years, their customer service is very poor and to top it off our receipt had our order correct, they were wrong all the...
