El Pig’s Butt Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Kewaskum

We frequent The Pig's Butt often and recommend it to our friends however today was not what we expected. We both ordered our burgers medium and when they came out one was medium and one was rare, possibly still mooing. We brought this to the attention of the first person we saw (not our waitress) who expressed concern and said she would let the kitchen know. This person then, instead of addressing our quality problem instead went about clearing a table that recently had been vacated. Finally our waitress came over and initially didn't seem to fully grasp the problem until we held the virtually raw burger next to the properly cooked (medium) burger. She at that point apologized, took the raw burger and said they would make us a new one. We asked to have the new one put in a to go box as I would be done eating by the time it was going to arrive. The new burger (yes it was new as the first one was cut in half by us and the new one was still in one piece) arrived and when we cut it open it too was as raw as the first one. The waitress then set our bill on the table. When she returned to pick up the payment I told her that the replacement burger was just as raw as the first one. The waitress said she was sorry but never offered to have a manager come over to talk to us, have another burger made nor did she offer to discount the bill at all. My wife just wanted to go home so we took the still undercooked burger home with us. We only wanted the burger cooked medium and would not normally say anything but this was very much an underwhelming experience that hopefully is not an indication of things to come at...

Awful service. And then we were scolded by the manager for being upset that it took more than an hour to get appetizers (when we watched people who came in after us get their food first).

We were in town for a basketball tournament. 10 of us came in between games for some dinner. We walked into a mostly empty restaurant and tried to order quickly—we had about an hour-and-half before we would need to leave to get back to the tournament. When we tried to order food with our drinks, our server insisted in taking our drink order first and bringing them before taking our food order. By the time we got our drinks, we had already wasted about 15 minutes. At this point, we explained our situation again to the server and decided to only order appetizers rather than full meals to try to keep things speeding along.

After we sat for another 50 minutes (ordering a second round of drinks), it became clear that we weren’t going to get our food in time to eat pay and get back to our next game. Meanwhile, another team that came in after us was served before us.

We asked about our options and expressed our dissatisfaction. The manager told us how busy it was and explained that it was unrealistic for us to be upset about the service.

The bad service was annoying. But I’m writing this because of the manager’s response. Completely unacceptable. He tried to blame us for having the audacity to want food within an hour of being seated. The restaurant wasn’t even close to busy when we walked in. And at no point that it appear to overly busy while we were there.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at El Pig's Butt! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the exceptional service from the staff.

Stephanie, the bartender, was amazing. She not only crafted some of the most delicious and creative drinks I've ever had but did so with such a genuine and friendly demeanor. Her knowledge of the drink menu and her ability to recommend the perfect cocktail was impressive. It's clear she takes great pride in her work and enjoys making customers happy.

Heather, who served our table, was phenomenal. Her attention to detail, friendly attitude, and professional service made our dining experience truly special. She was attentive without being intrusive, and her recommendations from the menu were spot on. It's rare to find a server who goes above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your meal is perfect, but Heather did just that.

The entire staff at El Pig's Butt is top-notch, and it’s evident that the owners know exactly what they’re doing. Their commitment to hiring and training excellent staff shows in every interaction. The ambiance, combined with the outstanding service, makes this place a must-visit.

I highly recommend El Pig's Butt to anyone looking for a great night out with fantastic food, drinks, and impeccable service. Five stars...
