Worst Customer Service EVER‼️‼️‼️
I pulled up to this place at 1:20pm and was immediately asked to hold. There were about 4-5 cars already in front of me. Time goes by and I noticed the cars are all cleared out but it’s 1:30pm now and no-one has come back to take my order, so I backed my car out of the drive thru then pull back in and immediately someone gets on the intercom to take my order. I tell her I want the Baja chicken wrap and the Green Caesar wrap then she tells me to hold on, I wait about two minutes then she repeats my order and I add two Sunrise Sunset smoothies. At this point I am a little annoyed because they legit forgot about me for ten minutes and didn’t even apologize but Im still nice with them. I pull around to the window and pay. The girl hands me my receipt and I immediately see that she rung my Baja wrap up as a jerk chicken wrap. I asked the girl about it and she said they don’t have a button for the Baja wrap but she put a note to the cook to make the Baja wrap. Well I wait a few more minutes and she ask me to pull up because there are now cars behind me which I did. At about 1:40pm which was an additional ten minutes that I had been waiting on my food and smoothies the girl comes to me and tells me the cook messed up my order and the rice they were going to use for the Baja wrap was used for a jerk chicken wrap (that I did not order). She tells me they have more rice but they have to make more so I would have to wait longer which I couldn’t because I had to get back to work. I still don’t have my smoothies or the Cesar wrap so at this point I’ve already been at this place for about 20 minutes so I tell her I no longer want anything I ordered and would like a full refund because I’ve waited long enough and My lunch was just about over I needed to get back to work. There were three vehicles behind me, two of those vehicles already received their meals and drove off, all while I still had not received anything. Had I known they didn’t have that Baja wrap I wouldn’t have ordered anything from there because that was my main reason for going. I just so happen to add on the smoothies and the other wrap for my husband and son. I would’ve went to McDonald’s instead which was right across the street. So another lady comes out who states she is the owner and tells me she will only refund me for the Baja chicken wrap. She refused to give me a full refund even though I still had never received anything I ordered. She went back and forth with me, was not sympathetic to my time or my concerns. She basically made it seem like I was stopping them from being able to serve other customers all while I’m a customer who never was served. I will never go back to this place ever again. She only refunded me for the wrap and then finally gave me one of the wraps with the two smoothies. By this time it’s about 1:52pm. I spent 30 mins at the drive through and still never received an apology. I was greeted with attitude and excuses. This was the worst customer service I have ever received and I am truly disappointed in how the owner chose to handle this situation. I will never be back. Read moreI recently visited the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Killeen, and unfortunately once again, my experience left much to be desired. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience from this location but I generally wait to see if it was just a one time thing or if the location just sucks. Well, we can chalk this up to this location sucking a big fat one because from the subpar drinks to the lackluster customer service and excruciatingly long wait times, it was an overall disappointing visit yet again.
First and foremost, the drinks were a major letdown. I ordered their supposedly refreshing Blimey Limey smoothie, but it tasted more like a watered-down ice smoothey than anything that has a lime in it. The flavors were bland because they didn't add enough juice to get it to blend, so instead they just kept putting in ice to get it to finally go. I'm no chef but when you add in a ton of ice (read: water) it is going to cause issues with flavor. It's disheartening to pay a premium price for a drink that fails to deliver on taste and quality.
To add insult to injury, the wait times were simply unacceptable. I understand that a popular place might have some wait, but this was excessive at over 15 minutes. It felt like the staff was not adequately managing the orders and serving customers efficiently because my order was being made in-between others one at a time. Waiting for an extended period only to receive a subpar product is a frustrating experience especially because it is only a drink. If I had ordered food it would be one thing, but people in the store and in the drive-thru were just getting smoothies.
Equally disappointing was the customer service. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive with Elijah H (the person who took my order and made my drinks) consistently talking to his fellow employees. Generally when you're behind on something you don't talk to your co-workers and call yourself "retarded" multiple times when customers are in the building. This location of Tropical Smoothie Cafe is the unfortunate combination of bad drinks, poor customer service, and long wait times. If I was corporate or the franchise owner I would fire all the employees, fire the manager, and sell the location. Do yourself a favor and go to the one in Harker Heights. Read moreI love going to tropical smoothie, there are days when my smoothies come out great and then there are days I’ve had a total where my smoothies were trash, and I had to throw at least 5 away and they are not cheap, I go almost daily. Last Sunday3/3 and yesterday3/10 I went and the attitudes at times can be really unprofessional and the smoothies made at times are not good. I had to have my smoothie made over because it taste like straight water, when i took it back in they took care of it Rt away but you could see that they were loudly throwing shade making comments that were not professional. I almost wanted to ask for my money back, the other one they remade was very chunky so i just walked out. I ran into the general manager coming in On her day off to get things in order, I spoke with her, she is amazing she heard what i had to say and reassured me that she was going to take care of things and apologized about the situation. I wish she was there daily because of some of the attitudes that you get from these teenagers “ okay well there’s a wait”. You let them know you’re okay with the wait and you hear them blow like you coming to the establishment is a problem. One day they kept me waiting in the drive through so long thatI drove around and went inside to see them not even working just telling people there was a wait in hopes they would leave! Then i witnessed one of the people pick up the trash can brush sugar that was wasted into the trash and then went on to make smoothies she never washed her hands.
