I went there to get some food this past Friday I got the orange chicken plate in my food was rented when I called back to tell them they told me to bring the plate back because they sell a lot of orange chicken. That was the exact words and the chicken was not old. I brought back the plate, exactly as pictured, and the woman proceeded to be very rude and tell me. they don’t do refunds, even though it says that nowhere in there or in their website and proceeds to say things like we don’t give out food for samples and if you don’t like it, you just don’t have to come back, but the issue was not that I did not like my food my food was old. It looked good to the eye, but the moment that I bit into it, I could tell that it was old instead of taking accountability. She continue to tell me that the food was not Old And that there was nothing wrong with it. She then went on to say that they’ve been there for several years and that if I don’t like it, I don’t have to come back once again. I’ve eaten here multiple times and I get the same thing every time and I order under the same name I’ve never had this issue, but I will never be back When you walk in the door. It smells and not the typical Chinese restaurant smell and then I go to eat my food and it taste putrid and you tell me that I am lying. I will be reporting to the health board. And I recorded the whole interaction so I have the proof of exactly what I’m saying that...
Read moreIf I could give them zero stars, I would. That was the nastiest bunch of grease and gristle I've ever put in my mouth. The egg drop soup had the consistency of badly gelled jell-o and all the flavor of a raw egg. The ribs were basically jerky on a bone. The beef sticks were barely passable as edible. The egg rolls were pockets of unseasoned, unidentifiable mush, in a scorched and greasy wrapper. I've never had worse fried rice in my life. My husband's "almond chicken" had all the flavor of simmered cardboard. The "aromatic" chicken was some kind of tough, greasy, rubbery meat that had been salted to the point of near preservation. The menu said sweet tea. The restaurant said they have sweet tea. Brewed sweet tea. What did we receive? Lemon flavored Brisk in a can. When I called to complain, they said "Oh, you have to dine in or pick up to get brewed tea." How come that wasn't mentioned when we placed the order? My son's chicken nuggets were so overcooked and greasy he couldn't chew them. He gagged on his french fries, and (rightly) wouldn't even touch the fried rice. Nothing we received was edible. We spent $50 dollars on three meals, and we just threw away about 75% of it. Save your money and go to the freezer aisle at H.E.B. This is by far and away the WORST restaurant I've experienced in...
Read moreThis restaurant has been around over 30 years - proof they have stood the test of time AND they haven't changed their recipes and gone the lazy route. We have been dining here for years and have never once had a bad experience with dine-in service or to-go orders. We live in the Temple/Belton area (20+ miles away) which has five or six local Chinese restaurants but we still drive to Killeen just to eat Hunan's food. It's always so good that when we're finished dining in, we always order additional food to go for the next few days to enjoy at home. The service is always great, the food is always super fresh and hot, the prices are very reasonable, the portions are large, the servers and hostess(es) are always so friendly, it's nice and quiet, and I actually like the fact that the interior hasn't updated too much. It has a very nostalgic atmosphere and hearkens back to when we used eat there in the 90's when I was a teenager. It's comforting to me that not much has changed and I LOVE that they haven't converted to a generic, low quality buffet like most other Chinese restaurants have done. Same Hunan's, same...
