Found this little place while passing through on a road trip. My niece and I got the chicken parmigiana and the lasagna, both were ordered to go.
Starting with the good things: 1. the lady at the counter taking orders was very nice 2. the quaint decore was endearing and felt like stepping back to a simpler time 3. portions sizes were large 4. prices would have been fair if the food was better quality, each entre was about $16 and came with garlic bread and a garden salad.
Now for the bad: 1. The chicken parmigiana was made with frozen pre-packages chicken patties, like what you would get in a banquet tv dinner. They had a very spongy texture 2. The lasagna wasn't made with any discernable layers, it was just a pile of cut up lasagna noodles with sauce, cheese, and ground sausage all mixed up. It tasted ok though 3. The garlic bread was very dry and bland 4. The salad was lack luster, just pre-made bagged iceberg lettuce with a couple veggies thrown on 5. We didn't get any utensils to eat our food with.
The restaurant smelled good and the pizza looked really great. Maybe if we had gotten the pizza we would have had a better experience. I would suggest steering clear of the pasta...
Read moreOrdered two Calzones for delivery. The order arrived and discovered that I had been delivered two individual pizzas. I hailed the delivery person as he was entering his car and told him of the mistake and went to hand him the pizzas. The nice young man told me to keep the pizzas and said he would return shortly. Sometime later he returned with the calzones with "sorry" written in marker on one of the boxes. What a refreshing change from what I have experienced in what I believe is a decline in customer service in numerous industries over the years. I also think that the new owners are putting out a far better product as both the calzone and pizza for lunch the next day was delicious. I will defiantly recommend this establishment....
Read moreThe cashier was nice, but the atmosphere was gloomy, like a hospital. We ordered 2 spaghetti, 1 alfredo, and a salad bar and garlic bread. Our food cost about 60 dollars. The salad bar was really good but everything else was terrible. The bread sticks were gross, and the garlic bread was topped with garlic and oil, and wasn't good at all. The spaghetti sauce looked like it came out of a can or was frozen, it was chunky and didn't taste good. The 16 dollar alfredo with shrimp was oily and had too much garlic in it. It had cheap popcorn shrimp in it. Food was so bad and expensive that I couldn't even force myself to eat it because I started to feel sick. There are plenty of other places that you can go to get better food for...
