We went there based on Kathy, that we have known of her for a very long time, and all the times Kathy has served us, we had Excellent service and food. Today, 4/3/25 was my wife’s birthday and also our 35th anniversary My wife chose Grandpas Kitchen for breakfast, thinking back of the great service and food we always enjoyed.

Today was so different, we waited just over a hour for our food and our son was so ready to leave, but I talked him into waiting since it was our special day. Our service by another manager and the man working by her side were superb and their service on refills to everyone, were the best I ever seen for two people working. When our omelettes and my son’s hamburger finally came out, my wife’s omelet was burned badly on the bottom and my sons burger was the same.my omelet was over cooked but not as burned so my wife and I shared what we could. I never seen so much food left on all 3 of our plates.i think the manger refunded my wife’s food, but as much that we didn’t eat, it should have all been. I still left a good size tip, just because of service, but as I drove away, I thought to myself… why ?. I just wish Kathy would have been there, as things might of turned out differently on this special day. I hope our steak dinner tonight goes a lot better.. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE, BECAUSE I FEEL WE...

We thought they closed at 2, but we got there at 1:10 and waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to table to get a menu. Then, when we ordered at 1:20, we found out that they were closed by the girl putting a closed sign in the window right next to us. Still let us order without a complaint and with a smile, and we're served by 1:30. The lady that served us seemed to be the dishwasher though. We ordered something that would be fast, and it was. Husband was fast to fix (hot roast beef with gravy and fries. While mine was a club and fries. The gravy was amazingly good, and fries were hot. My club was toasted lightly just as I requested, although it was supposed to have turkey on it, and I was surprised to find only 1 tiny piece that didn't even cover the sandwich. We went to the counter to get someone's attention so we could pay to leave so they could close. This will make the 3rd time we were there, and it has always been good. It is a very informal and comfortable place but very simple. Which is what we like. We will likely try it again if we are ever in town...

essed. Started by waiting 45 minutes for a table (should be a good indicator). Waitress didn’t take our drink order when we were seated so we had to flag down another waitress to get those going. Our waitress returned (without drinks) and took our order. 20 minutes passed and we still had no drinks (did I mention they have no A/C and it was 110 out while the door was standing open?) so I had to ask for drinks again at the counter. Those didn’t exactly arrive promptly. Our waters were empty in minutes due to the heat and were never refilled until we got the bill (nice job). Oh, and the food? Meh. Eggs in the omelette weren’t scrambled but they definitely use fresh cracked eggs (I had plenty of shells in mine as proof). I expected the food to be better when you wait 65 minutes for it after ordering. The place was almost empty by the time it arrived. The sign outside says “Celebrating 30 years!”. It should read “Miraculously still in business after 30 years!” Would not recommend. Save yourself the hassle and just go to Denny’s. Even a bad Denny’s...

We were overwhelmed with the odor of heavy grease in the air once we entered the establishment. The decor is dated but tidy, with grey foldable plastic chairs for seating. The service is friendly, and the custom omelette we ordered appeared quickly on our table. The omelette is more of an overcooked egg scramble that has been folded over, and unceremoniously smothered in melted cheddar-ish like cheese. The potatoes were unremarkably greasy, while the biscuit was dense and doughy. We had ordered the burrito to-go, and upon eating it we realized it was essentially identical to the omelette we had, simply wrapped in a flour tortilla with two small containers of jar salsa. I detest salsa from a jar, but that is only my personal preference. It appears that most of the patrons ordered the chicken fried steak and/or biscuits and gravy - so perhaps we had just ordered the wrong menu items.

Been wanting to try this place and finally had a chance to. Me, wife and daughter walked in and instantly love the place. Great little place to eat with friendly employees. I had the chicken fried steak, wife had french toast and daughter had the lunch special which was the chicken club. We all tried bites of each others and honestly could not decide which was better. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, they post their lunch specials for the week on their Facebook page. We will be coming back to try their other items but somehow I do not think that we will be disappointed. I highly recommend this local business. As a reminder this is a cash only business.

Possibly the best breakfast I had throughout my road trip. Truly home-made hearty food. I had a 3-egg omelette with a side hash browns that was the size of my head. The toast wasn’t exactly “toasted” but was still fresh and delicious. The coffee was also good. The surprise was their giant cinnamon roll I carried out (which I recommend that you eat warm right away). Hands-down the best cinnamon roll I have ever had in my life. I do wanted to have lunch here on my way back but unfortunately they were closed. Service was friendly and my cup of coffee was kept hot and full on a cold morning.
