La Carreta Restaurant — Restaurant in Kingsport

I hate to give bad reviews because everyone has an off day. But what a business does when they make a mistake says alot for what type of customer service they provide. And this experience bears repeating. Food is normally good as well as the service. I had went in to order to go and waited on it. I came home and not only was my order incorrect, but the chicken i was given was dry and flavorless....way overcooked or old. I called to let them know I didn't get my correct order and explained what I ordered vs what I received. At first i was told that i was given what i ordered. I read to them the description of what i ordered and then described what i had. THEN Apparently the wrong button was pushed. Whatever. I was offered either to bring it back for the correct order or get credit. I said credit because I had been out all day and didn't want to get back out. Then i find out the "credit" is for when I come back. I paid over $60 for food that my dogs ate half (my order) because it was not good at all. I assumed the restaurant would at least credit a portion of what I was charged because there is no way what I received was that much. Nope. This place seems like a lovely establishment. However, I was paying for my meal and my server( instead of leaving bill so I could fill out the tip and such. I typically tip 20-30%) held the receipt and watched as I filled out the receipt (which is very unprofessional) he specifically had his finger pointing at the tip portion. I proceeded to tip 20%, and left. Prior to this occasion, I visited a couple months ago and me and my family (party of 3) were waiting for seating and noone seated us for over 20 minutes. As we were walking out someone came running to seat us. I noticed there were plenty of seats available, and others (that came in after us) were being seated. We were dressed up, looked nice, so I don't know what to think about that one. Laziness perhaps? Additionally, on that past visit the orders were completely wrong. I recently visited this restaurant, and I am beyond disappointed with the service I received. I placed a large order, which included chips and queso, something I paid for, and to my surprise, they refused to give me the chips that are supposed to come with it! After addressing the issue, they finally decided to give me a small bag of chips, halfway full, and to make matters worse, they had the nerve to call it "complimentary." Are you kidding me? How can something I already paid for be "complimentary"? The portion of chips was embarrassingly small for a large order like mine, and the attitude from the staff made it clear they didn't care about providing quality service.
