Moto Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Kingsport

This is absolutely the worst location of this chain in Johnson City and Kingsport.

I stopped by for lunch today and had the standard chicken and rice, and it was absolutely terrible.

There were several pieces of fat or gristle or whatever in the chicken, there was no spices or seasoning at all, and even the rice was overcooked.

The restaurant itself is kind of dark and dirty looking, and they now charge extra for mushrooms with either chicken or steak, and they are the only Japanese restaurant in the Tri-Cities that does that.

There are plenty of other places around that serve this type of food that are much better, and I would enthusiastically recommend that you try one of those and pass this place on.

The location on Stone Drive in Kingsport is much cleaner and the food is cooked much better. If it is a choice of one of these two for lunch or dinner definitely go to...

I have been eating here over the last 15 years. Don't get me wrong the food is great, the staff are actually polite but they are only open for 7 hours a day 11a-2p and 4:30-8:30pm. I don't get off work until 8 and I have to start calling multiple times starting at 7:30pm until maybe I get an answer just to get a to go order. I have literally walked in, stood at the door and called and looked over with noone on the phone because the phone is off the hook so they can't take any orders. This infuriates me when restaraunts do this. If your hours are until 8:30, then let it be until then but don't leave the phone off the hook or just let it ring when you have noone at the front paying or customers left to serve in the restaraunt. DO NOT EAT HERE!! They are the most rude restaurant, ineouldnt even give 1 star, they only open very minimal hours so do not call if your are even close to the hour before closing because they will not serve you. The communication is absolutely terrible!! They argued with me that I placed order at another restaurant when I showed the lady my call log she said let me get other girl that took your order all because they listed my name completely wrong, not even close to same name and even when I told the owner what I ordered she continues on with shes has no order for me..
