Benson's Cafe — Restaurant in Kingston

I could not be happier about this morning's experience. As a vegan, they have no choices, and I knew that going in. I'm used to getting dry toast and home fries, and I usually like them just fine. Well, these were the absolute BEST home fries I've ever had in my life, including mine! The server helped me out with determining that the baked beans had bacon, so I couldn't have them. I also got some spinach, onions, and peppers, sautéed in oil, and they were also so wonderful. The spinach was so incredibly fresh! I never expect a non-vegan restaurant to have options for me, but, this server was fantastic (we sat at the counter, around 10:00 a.m.). Five stars for her, and for those amazing home fries! I wouldn't hate it if they had hummus or guacamole for the toast, or some baked beans without the bacon, but they're not a vegan restaurant, so not their problem. Oh, and the bread is amazing. Tastes very homemade and fresh. I didn't think to ask if it has milk or eggs, so my bad, but amazing. Great...

I’m a food snob. I’m also super critical of service. I eat in Boston and many fine restaurants and it has been a LONG time since I let a review for a brunch restaurant. My wife and I happened onto this place waiting for my son to finish wrestling at Smitty’s Barn. The food was fabulous. The baked beans were some of the best I have ever had. The portion is a little small so I ordered two sides to go. The burrito sandwich was very good and the cinnamon roll was literally the “icing on the cake” Korrin was our server and was timely, friendly and informative. This place is also very clean, which I loved. If you find a way to leave less than 5 stars please eat somewhere else so the rest of us can enjoy...

Saturday morning 9:45 we were told it was a 25-minute wait. Normally I don't like to wait that long but everybody coming out I asked if it was worth it and they said oh definitely! They were very busy and they were all so short-handed but the staff was all cheerful and welcoming. The breakfast was absolutely worth waiting for the homemade corned beef hash was excellent and the homemade red hash potatoes were like I made them myself excellent. My coffee cup was never empty as busy as they were. Person I was with was equally as happy with her breakfast sandwich and home fried potatoes. Will definitely go back. Keep up the good...
