Mama Mia's of Kingston is located between an ExxonMobil station and Keegan’s Kreations off of exit old 9, which is now exit 18, in Kingston. It is the flagship eatery of the Viscariello family's south shore restaurant empire. They have recently renovated this location, which features a small number of tables in a bright and inviting space, along with an intimate bar area. The majority of their business is pizza and pasta takeout, along with their selection of classic entrees. In addition, they also serve boneless buffalo tenders and meatballs, which are some of our family favorites.
I suggest ordering several large pies, as they taste particularly good the next day. You can catch your family scarfing down cold slices when they think no one else is looking. During my last pick-up visit on a recent Friday night, I placed a last-minute phone order and had to wait for about 40 minutes from the time I called in the order until I was able to pick up two large cheese pies. They were well worth the wait!
They also offer excellent catering options. If you want to take advantage of their catering trays, be sure to call a few days ahead, as they are very popular!
Finally, they have recently partnered with Toast, which enables an online ordering option through that company’s app. I haven't used it yet, but it can be useful when their phone is ringing off-the-hook and you’re hoping to get your order in as quickly...
Read moreAfter loving on Mama Mia’s for decades I’m sadly saying goodbye. We dined in a few weeks ago and it was just a bad experience. I work in the industry so my grace goes a long way. But the food simply was not good. Mushrooms inedible, out of mozzarella sticks ok, we get bread w oil expecting an olive oil base, no it was Italian dressing. Who wants bread dipped into that? The entrees were not any better. So tonight I caved craving their eggplant parm. Ordered the Papa platter for me and my hubs to share. The chicken parm was ok, the eggplant.. what is happening there was one tiny slice! One! Paid $34.50 and I’m pissed. The sauce had a sour strange taste and I just couldn’t eat it. Mad at myself for going back. We’ve used them for catering and their hand tossed pizza was always one of my favorites. But this is the final straw. Goodbye Mama!! Not sure what happened here.. a small business starting out wonderful who got too big for themselves? Forgot about the customer? W/e it is I won’t be back. Way too many other options now. It’s not like the early 80’s when you monopolized the pizza market in the area. Thx for...
Read morehave been going here for 40 years. last night went the eggplant parm with noodles was $23 for 3 very thin small pieces of burned eggplant, hardly any sauce and noodles. the lasagna was fine. the american chop suey was full of huge pieces of onion very mediocre. food not great. on top of that half way through our meal 2 kids and 2 adults came in one child was screaming their head off and the other was coughing like crazy and was 3 feet away from us. she was not covering her mouth and contaminating the entire restaurant especially our table. i have compromised immune system so it was actually dangerous. i complained to the manager, she said i should wear a mask while eating. we packed up and left 1/2 through our $85 dinner. so mediocre and very disappointing to have the restaurant patrons exposed to air borne disease and they dont care at all. pretty pathetic, definitely wont...
