I've been there a few times, now.
Pros: Their burgers were delicious, their fries were great, and don't even get me started on their steak fingers, 'cause girl - those thing are amazing. Their carbonated drinks have been pretty good each time I've gone(I usually get their Root Beer equivalent or Dr. Pepper). Their employees were very nice each time I was there.
Cons: It's very, very small, and also very, very popular on weekends and dinnertime, so it gets pretty noisy and crowded. The nicest place to be when it's like that is outside; that is if you manage to get a table before they're taken.
Other: It's always been fairly clean. The decoration includes an almost absurd amount of antique things on the walls, like old movie posters, vintage photos(especially lots of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and some local New Caney historical photos), license plates, and different types of wall ornaments. The furniture was fairly worn, and some of the tables were little wobbly. There's a small step to get through the front door - it's easy to forget, not always easy to see, and so sometimes easy to trip over.
Caution: The meat market prices have gone up, and according to my brother, the last time he was there the burgers cost more than they used to(they were already slightly on the expensive side), and the meat didn't have as good a taste, so they've probably had to buy cheaper meat - and who can blame 'em, right? Anyway, as I said, this isn't from me: it's from my brother. I still thought I would warn you, though.
Conclusion: It's a delicious, family-owned burger joint that I highly recommend you at least try once.
Edit: It's been a fair few months since I've had the chance to go there, so some of the details, such as furniture or decoration, could...
Read moreI have been going to Pete’s Burgers regularly for over 10 years but after last night I will not be back, ever. Yesterday I phoned in an order for three cheeseburger baskets at 4:25, arriving at the restaurant at 4:45. The boy behind the counter told me my order was not ready yet and that my name would be called when it was. At 5 o’clock I watched as four bags were placed on the counter to the right of the register close to the door. At 5:05 PM I asked the manager/owner if my order was ready yet he looked around and said no. I told him that I had phoned the order in almost an hour ago. He shot me a disgusting look and said he would go look in the back. He never came back out. At 5:30 I asked the girl behind the counter if my order was ready. She said no and that I would be called when it was. I pointed to the bags on the counter that had been there since 5 o’clock and asked her if that was my order she said no. At 5:45 I went back to the counter again and asked the boy behind it if my order was ready as it had been an hour and 15 minutes since I placed the order. he looked around and said no. then he walked over to the counter and came back with three bags. I said “you have got to be kidding me, those bags have been sitting there for 45 minutes.” I opened up the bags and the food was cold. when I told him I wanted fresh hot food he offered to put the food in the microwave, when I told him that was unacceptable he offered to give me a drink. At this point I was livid and left with my $25 worth of cold food. absolutely RUDE &...
Read moreI usually love this place but that changed today. I walk in and the girls are friendly. Greg states im here for my pick up, i stand there with card in hand and he goes about his business, singing Christmas songs that are playing. So i am standing there like a idiot with my card in hand, do i sit down do i wait do I pay now? I had called in the order. I ordered a kids meal for my daughter. I said that the online price stated something different. the girl brought it to his intention while he is looking at his phone, instead of talking to me he talk to me through her. " Well what do you want me to do about it, it states online prices might vary, they haven't updated it, I just got email saying they would, what am I suppose to do, blah blah blah." The whole time his facing his phone, doesn't acknowledge me. If he would of looked me in the face like a decent person and said I am sorry about the confusion , online it states they might vary, i would of understood. My bad. But to tell me off, by talking out loud to another employee so i will hear it, but not have to deal with me is not ok. that's bad customer service. I never pushed it, i never got made, i just asked on question and never said another word. it is 2:45 they were not busy, so cant use...
