Went today to eat lunch today with family we were visiting. We have eaten here many times in the past because of the down home cooking.
Today there were 8 of us and 3 ordered the breaded tenderloin. The tenderloin came with hot dog buns and the side of fries were almost non existent. I counted mine and there were 23 and most no bigger than a thumb. We asked for hamburger buns for our tenderloins and were given them. All 3 people took a bite of the tenderloin and spit it out because it was really mushy and gray colored. I told the waitress and an older man came and said he would get someone. He took my niece's sandwich with him and an older man came back with the meat from her sandwich and told us there was nothing wrong with it and proceeded to take a bite of her tenderloin. He then proceeded to say, "This is bullsh☆t, we can't afford this and there is nothing wrong with them. I would eat them all, they were brought in this morning." He was very rude to us when all we wanted to do was make him aware of the issue. I was appalled that he took food from a customers plate and then ate some of it. I will be calling the Adair County Health Department. I am sad this happened because this has been a place we can go as a large group and everyone find something good to eat. This is no longer the case. Save your money and time and go elsewhere.
We did not ask for anything to be done about the sandwiches, mistakes happen in restaurants, but after the way I was treated, the lack of the owner wanting to have a decent conversation, and being told to eat somewhere else from now on I refused to pay for the sandwiches. Our bill was still almost...
Read moreMy wife and I had been traveling all night from Minnesota and we were both tired and hungry and just wanted to shake the road dust off our shoulders and talk about the next step in our adventure what better then a local diner right? Dead wrong, we were welcomed by a crabby server who slapped the menues down and clearly lead us to believe we were bothering her. Worst food ever, cold eggs, shredded potatoes not even browned so called hash browns, plastic tasting cheese and when we complained we got attitude. You could hear the server complain about us to the greasy cook who would not even talk to me chef to chef. When we asked to speak to the owner his reply was to snap off "well maybe we should have someone as good as you in the kitchen " he then snapped up the bill and walked off! I suggest avoid Rosie's North side Cafe at all costs, drive a little more down the road to Pancake City and have chef Dale cook you a wholesome delicious home cooked breakfast for...

The gravy for my biscuits and gravy was old and congealed and not the least bit seasoned, with giant chunks of sausage instead of small pieces distributed throughout the gravy. The biscuit was clearly not fresh either :(
The best thing about here is the pies. I highly recommend trying the coconut cream! It’s piled high with merengue and toasted coconut chips and the cream is super smooth and richly flavored!
Service can be slow which is frustrating, and they do expect you to tell them in advance if you need separate checks, but it’s a good ol fashioned mom and pop place that deserves local support.
The only reason I’m giving them 4stars is because of past experiences, I know they...
