I've tried four different sandwiches from this place so far, each better than the others. But you know what I haven't tried? The Gyros. I just found out they're considered some of the best in town. See you guys soon, probably tonight! My wife will be tickled if I tell her I'm picking up a Kirkwood Deli Reuben for her for dinner. I'll be having the gyro. Seriously, this really is one of the best sandwich shops in town. Not just Kirkwood, but all of St. Louis. Also of note... I'm always impressed when I walk into a place and see teens who go a step above. This isn't "old guy millennial talk", because I was on the lazy end of the spectrum as a teen. What I mean is that there are a few places in town, like Taco Circus, and Gioia's Deli, to name a couple, where, even though the average age of the staff is less than 20, the service is exemplary. He then gave me a dirty look like I was stupid and then pointed down at the counter. There was a piece of paper taped there saying that debit card purchases need to be above $5. I told him I didn't have any cash and would it be possible for him to make an exception since we were only 3 pennies off. His response? "Tough." The service here has pushed me...
Read moreGood grocery store. It's almost like a trip back in time when not much chain type of grocery stores around. Sadly, I wish that they always had the Kraft sliced American cheese. To me, that is THE only downside to the store. Kirkwood is well known for history and this store is in away another place to go for anyone wants a journey back in time. For a man my age, it takes me almost 15 to 20 minutes to walk there, but if the weather is nice, I wouldn't mind making the journey. They even have cleaning products! A must for wanting...
