Sept. 6, 2025 - 6 pm Saturday - Crowded, but we had reservations. They have a back room enclosed which is quiet. For crowded times, this is a good option. Side salads are only $8 and tasty. Parking lot is dark and not lighted....have your phone light on. I like that they box up your leftovers for you. Very friendly server and manager....it makes the experience even better.

July 16 2025 - another visit and again, great food and great service from Kerri. Even though we didn't order an appetizer she brought out some cheese and crackers. Most people cleaned their plates or took some home for later. Kerri boxed it up for us. I appreciate the owner walking around checking on things and he even noticed we were out of butter which he fixed. I like to park in the parking lot off of Lindbergh. It's easy then to walk in and drive out.
Note - you may want to make a reservation....we got there at 5 pm and got a seat, but later on the restaurant filled up. Even when it filled up, it was easy to talk and hear each other. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx First Visit My wife had the Pilot House Chicken and I had the Pistachio Chicken. Both were delicious, but I particularly liked the Pistachio Chicken with the grilled mushrooms and sauce. Angeline, our server, was particularly delightful and you should try and get her if possible. They do extras which other places don't do. They serve you home made crackers and cheese spread, rolls, cookies at the end of the meal and a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. I also liked that it was quiet and easy to have a conversation. I also like the parking lot so it makes it easy to get into and you don't need to park...
Read moreIt was our monthly dinner night with our County friends. They chose Sunset 44 Bistro. A quaint little place. Great food with a lot of options. We met Bob at the door. I said" Oh are you the manager"? Boob said " Sort of, Iam the owner". So that is how I met Bob Menendez the owner of Sunset 44. Bob was awesome he showed us to our table. Made sure we were comfortable and then immediately went to set up another table and help a server with a large order getting the food for the table placed in the tight order. A lot of pride in his business and it shows. Thanks Bob!. The food was great I had the pistachio chicken. It was fabulous a blend of sweet creamy sauce not salty but just good mouth feel. I had the house white a good Chardonnay that went well with the chicken. The wine was dry but complimented the dish perfectly. The table bread was a flatbread with a hummus that also paired well together. If you looking for a great meal with great service and an owner who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Visit Bob at Sunset 44 for an awesome evening out. I recommend this place for any occasion you will not be...
Read moreWe (a party of 5) visited the Sunset 44 Bistro for the first time in many years. It has changed location since then but the new location is great, with plenty of parking, and good seating options indoors and out. The attention was good with one minor exception. After a trainer and new server came to take our drink order, and after returning with the drinks and explaining the specials, they disappeared for the longest time. I actually had to go and search for them to tell them we would like to order some appetizers. After that all went well. I had asked for a quiet place when I made the reservation and they gave us a very nice space that allowed for conversation.
The food was all exceptional. Two of us had the special, which was a 12 oz steak. I’d asked for medium rare and my friend medium, and both were cooked to perfection. And the appetizers were also excellent: toasted ravioli and empanadas. We were all very happy with our experience at Sunset 44 Bistro and will definitely...
