My story begins the same as most Mexican restaurant beginnings, a glass of water, a bowl of tortilla chips, and some spicy caliente salsa. Our ears were greeted with the rapido sounds of guitar and maracas coming from the radio. Allow me to advance this story to the reason you are even reading this: the drinks, the food, the experience.
Chapter 1: Chips & salsa. Complementary chips, in a small metal bowl (the size of one hand, cupped). The salsa was tasty with a bit of lingering spice. Of course, we added some queso and guac. Both were equally as tasty and met the expectations of standard guac and queso.
Chapter 2: the drinks. Water for everyone! Cold, iced, free refills. Beer, mixed drinks, soft drinks, and of course... Margaritas.
Chapter 3: the foods. One would think I lost my mind when I ordered the Pina Loca. This dish came out with half a pineapple gutted and stuffed with chicken, shrimp, and veggies. The flavor was on point. The chicken and shrimp marinated in pineapple. Delicious. When I finished I literally stuck a fork in it. Other food around the table included: burritos, tacos, enchiladas, tamale, and other various stuff. They said it was good. They didn't offer me a bite, so I can't confirm.
Chapter 4: desserts. Didn't have any.
Chapter 5: location location location. The dining room had plenty of options between booths or tables. Very accommodating to squish 2 tables together for those larger parties. The bathroom was clean.
We'll, My story has come to it's inevitable end. Until next time my fellow followers of...
Read moreDecided to go out and eat one Thursday. New restaurant in kittanning pa. When I chekedp the menu out on the web it looked very large. Lots of things to eat and such a diversified menu. We ordered three items which took some time due to the fact it was very busy. As I was sitting there looking around noticed a few things. I noticed that our server was also attending bar, maybe that's why are food was cold, not even hot. Second I noticed that they had no one cleaning off tables as people where leaving. The other one things that really disturbed me was the gentleman at the from working the cash register. And to me this was very disturbing. When you are working in the food industry you try very hard to look good. The thing that disturbed me was HIS HANDS. They were very, very dirty. He looked like he might work in construction, and he was one of the owners and told me that he is normally in the back, OMG really working around food. The restaurant overall was clean looking, very friendly staff. The food was very good it just was not hot or warm. Kittanning does need some good places to eat beside bars were the food is generally fried. I will be back to eat there again and see if there are any improvements in what I have written. GOOD LUCK I do hope things get better. Ill give this review a 5 star for the taste of the food. It was very good. Just...
Read moreI had 2 burritos 1 chicken, 1 beef with a side of rice and beans. The burritos were covered in lettuce with a thick slice of tomato cut in half and placed on either side of plate. They had about a teaspoon of sour cream . The chicken burrito was so dry and the beef tasted off to me . I don’t know if it was going bad or what. The rice was alright but the beans were out of a can with a hint of cheese on top. For this I paid $15. We had scoured the menu online and when we got there the meals we picked weren’t on the menu. And prices were all higher. Don’t waste your hard earned money . Service was ok but I had to ask for my sides 3 times. And the waitress acted as though she was waiting on her worst enemy....
