Yamato Sushi Restaurant — Restaurant in Kittanning

This is the first time I had a bad experience at Yamato, and we eat there frequently... However, after todays experience I thought I would let everyone know what happened.. I called at 10:55am (5 min before they even open) this morning to order food for lunch, I asked them if I could pick it up at 12pm. I walked in a few minutes past 12pm to get our food order and it wasn't ready.. No problem, its busy, it happens.. However at 12:23pm a women walks in with 2 bags, RETURNING the order because it was wrong, it was MY order... the lady at the front desk tried to give me the food that this lady had for 20 minutes, left the restaurant, and came back with.. I told them I was not taking it and that they need to remake it. She took the bags back and at 12:35pm came back with "new" food.. I do not believe they remade this food, it was a large order. I took it back to work and opened the bags and my steak and veggies were COOL.. EXTREMELY UNSATISFYING...

Every Sunday, my daughter and I look forward to our cherished "Sushi Sunday" at Yamato—a tradition that has become such a joyful ritual for us. We typically stick to our usual order, which never fails to satisfy, but sometimes we venture out and try something new to keep things exciting. Last night, we decided on the sweet potato hand roll, and it was an absolute delight! For those who haven’t tried a hand roll, it’s served in a cone shape, making it a fun twist from the usual six-piece rolls. Each bite was perfectly balanced, with just the right crunch and sweetness.

Having this weekly tradition is a little moment of happiness we get to share, and I’m so grateful to the wonderful team at Yamato for consistently making it memorable. My favorite Hibachi place in the greater Pittsburgh Area! I have been here twice and will be back in the future! Their sushi rolls are delicious and an amazing size for the price. I love the miso soup. The salmon hibachi was on point. I have never eaten anything from here that was disappointing! My 3 and 5 year old girls looooved the noodles. I loved the flavor of their noodles, too! We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and they brought out tiny ice cream treats mochi, I believe for my hubby. (It was probably more for my two daughters who were complaining about wanting to get cake and sing happy birthday at Nini and Puppups house.)
