My work partner and I came in for lunch today and was seated in the out door area since it was a nice day. We waited about five minutes for a server to get to us for a drink order...no problem. While waiting for the drinks (about ten minutes) a hispanic couple is seated next to us...A server comes over to them and takes their order and they have their food literally within five minutes...we wait another fifteen minutes to get our lunch mind you we were there before them. When asked why it's taking so long.."we have one person in the kitchen", reply to which we were thinking, we were here before this hispanic couple but you got their food to them promptly. To Add insult to injury the lunch meal which was two quesadilla's, rice and beans, some guacamole and a coke and a tea was $ 46 and change. The hispanic guy literally holds up his credit card and a server is there immediately to get his payment. Heads up white people or white families in or near Rocky Hills,TN neighborhood or Sequoia Hills neighborhood, this Mexican restaurant is racist towards white people and should not be given any business. I have been to other Mexican restaurants in Knoxville, TN where we have been served promptly and without prejudice. Avoid this place because apparently they only cater to hispanics and don't care about the...
Read moreThis place was a favorite a time ago. Not sure if still the same owners or not but things are slipping. Mind you it was a Friday night at a little after 7pm when we got seated in a both at the bar. The seats of the booth looked like a rogue DEA agent used his pocket knife to search the cushion for narcotics. The server who sat us, yes server not host, spent 90% of our stay talking to an adjacent both, maybe running one order out. Our server was working all the bar tables by herself and you could tell she was frustrated by her counterpart, but she did a great job despite this. The food arrived surprisingly quick. Unfortunately we could tell why. My wife's tacos, by my guess, had been made probably an hour earlier and just thrown on a hot plate with fresh rice and beans. There was enough grease in them, fortunately, to do a great 50s slick back hair do. My wife ate one and promptly asked where the restroom was. My Guadalajara enchiladas were interesting. The chicken inside was very flavorful and so was the Verde sauce. The fact there was also almost a whole, uncooked, white onion diced on top was a bit interesting. First time I had the dish so not sure if this was the way it was supposed to be. I'll give it a few months before I try it again, and I will, but for now my wife won't even...
Read moreI ate here on 4/19 with my family. I paid for the whole table and it was a large lump sum. I notice on 4/21 that my payment was posted to my bank account with an additional $4.00 on top of what my check was. I didn't leave a card tip, we left a cash tip on the table. I call the restaurant to find out that the server, Lorys, wrote in $4.00 tip on top of my scratched out tip line. To say I was furious is an understatement. The manager apologized and offered me a gift card and planned to speak with the server, Lorys. When I showed up the next week to pick up the gift card, the server was still there serving and the gift card was for the restaurant. I'm severely disappointed in this and I told the manager that and said I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. As I'm walking away the "manager" retorted "IT WON'T". No business should have people like this working for them. If it was only $4.00 on my card, who's to say they haven't taken more from other people and I was just fortunate enough to notice it on my card. I still have my receipt where you can see the trace lines where I wrote on top of it. It clearly shows the tip line scratched out with my final total being what the...
