Zen — Restaurant in La Cañada Flintridge

Yummy sushi place. We come here fairly often. My favorites are the spicy tuna crispy rice and the Heart Attack roll. It's not cheap, but I wouldn't say it's overpriced either. Good sized portions of fish. I wish they had a little more diversity in their rolls. I love me some spicy tuna, but it seems that most of their rolls feature it in different ways. The only thing we've ever had an issue with is the eel. It can be hit or miss. When it's good, it's really good, but when it's bad, well, not so much. Overall, though, we have friendly service. Always wonderful to come to this place! They have the freshest, crispiest, juiciest Sweet & Sour Pork, amazing Hong Kong Pork Buns, and so many other very tasty menu items! This time we noticed they had added Boba tea, and, as a German, I was delighted to find Blackcurrant as a flavor, which is very popular in Germany but not well-known in California at all. It could best be described as tasting like sour blueberries. The boba was delicious!!

Zen Sushi has wonderful people working there. We are always greeted with happy smiles and shown to comfy booths. Some parking available both in the back and on the street.

The food was delightful. The young waitress doesn't seem to like her job. The sushi chef was perfection in every way, clean, cordial and perfection in food. I will definitely return and bypass the waitress who doesn't seem to want to work but will address you from across the restaurant rather than approach the customer to see what they need. She doesn't ask how you are or return to the table without searching for her even though the restaurant was near empty. I believe this restaurant would have lines around the corner with their food quality if the service were up to...
