Smokey D's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in La Center

We use to live in this small city and eat here all the time. Being nostalgic we stopped on our way through to grab some food. The food did not come out good I ordered and had no flavor. It was just wet chicken tenders that made my bread soggy with no flavor. The seafood and fries tasted like old grease. The smell inside was like old grease. Our waitress while polite was to busy doing things. The dining room was not busy or crowded. We went back because we had many fond memories and while I'm willing to over look many things and be understanding the experience we had was unwarranted. We eat at this place at least once a week. The food and the service has always been good. However, we ate here at lunch today and the service was horrible. This is not the fault of the server. She was waiting the entire dining room by herself and running the cash register. There is no way she could keep up. We waited 40 minutes for our food, ate w/o anything to drink. Love Love LOVE this place in LaCenter, KY in the heart of Ballard County. They have THE BEST EVER BBQ! The burgers and other sandwiches are excellent as well.
