Luigi's Italian restaurant — Restaurant in La Coste

Went to the new place in Lytle, it's nice and clean and was very busy. Our server was great and our food was hot and very good. We happened to go the next night, seemed busy but not like the night before, Johnny the owner seated us and we watched as servers never looked as us nor our direction. My husband said he was ready to leave, we had already been there almost 20 mins, then finally a young female server asked us if we had been helped, I had stated no, that we were just about to walk out, she never apologized but did take our drink order and our food order. After about 20 mins we watched our pizza go outside and back to the kitchen, then we saw Johnny's wife with our pizza she walked around the room holding the pizza, then our server took the pizza from her and brought it to the table. We never saw our server again, our drinks were empty, after about 10 mins I finally asked another server "how do we get drinks around here?" That female server brought us refills. When we were done eating we never received a check, so we walked up to the counter and told Johnny what we ordered, Johnny's always friendly and always asking how our food was, our pizza was good it's always the best place to get pizza but my husband wasn't going to tell him about our...

Terrible Service – Will Not Return

If I could give zero stars, I would. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. We stood waiting for a host, only to have the man running the place casually tell us to "find a table" without any greeting or direction. Once seated, we waited for about 10 minutes with no service before I finally had to get up and let someone know we hadn’t been helped. Instead of an apology, the man seemed irritated but brought menus over.

After ordering drinks, they arrived quickly with bread, which gave me some hope. However, that quickly faded when we waited another 15 minutes just to place our food order. The worst part? We then sat for an entire hour without a single check-in from any staff. Every other table around us was being taken care of, but we were completely ignored.

At that point, we decided enough was enough and left. When I let the man running the place know why we were leaving, he didn’t even bother to apologize. Hands down, the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent...

Previously at their Castroville location, Luigi’s was my absolute favorite place in Castroville, so I would make the drive a few times a year. However, today, my boyfriend and I visited the new location (since they opened in January 2025), and the food was ok. I got my regular (fettuccine Alfredo with chicken) however, the pasta and chicken was very bland. Chicken had absolutely no seasoning. No amount of salt or Parmesan cheese could add flavor to it. My boyfriend got the Stromboli, he didn’t enjoy it much due to the amount of grease and cheese that it had. We did enjoy the garlic knots and the sliced sausage appetizer. The owner has always been friendly & the servers. Plus, this new location has a working AC. Price wise: We ordered 1 fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, 1 Stromboli, 1 small Caesar salad, 1 order of sliced sausage, 1 lemonade, 1 Dr. Pepper came out to a total of $60. (With tip)
