I came here today on my way home from MSP based on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Lacrosse. Dining solo, I ate at the bar, where there were a couple of older gentleman and two sisters and a husband. There were 2 or so young couples - so a broad age range. Lots of TVs, but not it’s not loud, which is a dealbreaker for me. The vibe is neighborhood-y and welcoming, which is not that common. Kassie was the server/bartender. Helpful, competent, friendly and efficient—all I could ask for. And the food. I shouldn’t eat dairy or wheat, so had the vegan black bean tostadas — and was grateful to have a choice (tacos or salad were tempting, and there were add-on protein options for the tostadas). The base wasn’t crispy, more like a thin masa pancake. Delicious. Nicely presented. One was enough for me, so tostada dinner is covered. Nice textures and flavors. Fresh. For meat eaters, my friend highly recommends the 2 pork chop dinner. I didn’t drink alcohol, but there was a nice selection of beer on tap and in bottles/cans, including NA. The food was really good, but I think it would nice to meet up with friends for a drink as well. This one’s a keeper! I would 100% come back next time I visit Lacrosse. Don’t hesitate! Try the tacos on Tuesday, which seemed popular.

Hubby ordered , the pub burger, which actually was very delicious. We asked for extra crispy fries and they came out fairly soggy and not warm at all so we got they were nice and brought us new fresh fries which were pretty good., I think maybe they make them fresh they don’t get that crispy , but they were really hot and good. I got the perch sandwich with smelled a little fishy. Upon arrival once I got to eating it and needed a little salt and some extra remoulade and so we kind of split everything. It was nice and battered and very thin and crispy hot. The coleslaw it was a total disappointment. I think a message just been made because it was just like cabbage with mayonnaise coleslaw needs like a day to marinate. They were kind of busy. The staff was clearly overwhelmed, and I noticed that our waitress add people on either end of the restaurant. The weight for everything was fairly long table. We got right away, but just the food and water refill. Some things just took some time. Our waitress was really nice, perky, and seem to really know the menu quite well. I originally ordered the tostada to start. It sounded amazing and they ran out at the last minute, so I opted for the perch I would highly recommend the pub burger.

Typical neighborhood bar and grill EXCEPT the food selection is better making this a not so typical neighborhood bar and grill. Craft house is a very appropriate name as it is higher in culinary status imho. I wanted to try the Mac n cheese but they were out of it? WHAT? So I ordered the pork chop with asparagus. An excellent choice but also a bit more expensive. The mushroom soup was also tasty as was the steak, and the burger….heck, it was all good. If I lived in the neighborhood I would likely go broke. I suppose the only thing that makes it feel like a bar and grill is the interior. And the trivia game that was happening at the time of our visit. Parking was not an issue, even for my truck but smaller vehicles will fair better.

We stopped at Fork and Fable after a UW-Lacrosse Track meet, and after googling - a warm and cozy restaurant. ( Funny that we were seated right by the thermostat and it read 70-72, ha ha.) A Sat. evening and it was crowded! We decided to wait the 20 min. as did many others. We looked at a menu and watched the numerous TV's. or could have sat at the bar had we wanted. Watching the food being delivered to customers looked so delicious. Our own meals were not to disappoint!. We started with the Cheese curds. Now we are from Wi, and LOVE our cheese curds. These were the best I've ever had. They had the light breading, just the right amount of salt, and a great pull to the cheese, and enough of them to satisfy 4-5 people. Our waitress was top notch and took care of us! My husband said they had a great beer menu. I was surprised that with such a busy dinner hour that such a young staff was able to run it so smoothly! My husband asked to make his grilled chicken a blackened chicken and it was no problem. My daughter loved her double burger sandwich, and I had the turkey croissant which was more than perfect. I talked to someone who was waiting in line, and they said they've never had anything there they didn't like. Price was competitive city prices for an upscale dinner. I'd recommend...
