I would say that our stay was mostly perfect. This is a beautiful home, nicely decorated, wonderfully furnished. You're immediately transported back to the original time of the homes lavish beginning while adding some new age detail. It really was quite inviting.
The owners were welcoming, and we were given a much appreciated historical tour.
We enjoyed our room, it was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. The mattress was firmer, yet still comfortable, my husband commented how great his sleep was the next morning.
The only disappointment I had was in the morning. Now, when you stay at a B&B the breakfast is one of the best parts. We were told the breakfast would be served in the morning at 9am in a buffet style. This seemed to be inviting us to come at any time in a relaxing way. We were not down right at 9am, maybe closer to 9:30, and there was hardly anything left, and what was it was cold. We learned there were a total of three couples staying, which included us, but either the other two couples had our servings, or there just wasn't enough.
The food was deliciously prepared, there was a salad, two small squares of a delicious egg bake left, i wish we could have had more of this as it was really good, and will be experimenting on my own to recreate this. There were only three sprigs of asparagus left, so I took two, and my husband only got one, guess he should have went first! I did split the last sausage link with him though, as there was only one left. There was one of the best yogurt parfaits, I did however have two of these, as we were the last there, and everyone had already left, so figured they were fair game. The table at first felt awkward as there was seating for six and the other couples had taken seating to sit next to each other only leaving the ends open, which felt a little uncomfortable sitting opposite ends of a table with people you just met. The host did at this time mentioned there was optional seating in another room, I did mention the food seemed to be running out, but not sure if he heard me , as this didn't seem to change anything, or get a response. We were never offered anything to drink, but there was coffee available. This I was glad of, but my husband does not usually drink coffee. I feel we missed something, as I did see an empty champagne glass on the table for one of the guests, but never saw our host again to be able to ask. I am very disappointed regarding the breakfast, it was a lovely set up, and deliciously prepared, but there were some pretty big flaws with the whole thing, and would say, we won't be back because of it. I will continue to recommend this place, as there were other wonderful things, just either be downstairs waiting bf anyone else, or prepare to leave hungry...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Castle Lacrosse Bed and Breakfast, and it was an absolutely enchanting experience! From the moment we arrived, hosts Billy and Brandon treated us like royalty, making us feel right at home in their stunning mansion.
One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible history tour that Billy provided. His passion for the mansion’s rich history truly brought the place to life, and we were captivated by the stories and details he shared.
Every morning, we were treated to a homemade breakfast that was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious, setting the perfect tone for our day ahead.
The bedrooms are elegantly designed, with comfortable beds and luxurious bedding that made it hard to get out of bed! The entire atmosphere of the B&B is tranquil and inviting, making it the perfect getaway.
Overall, our weekend at Castle Lacrosse was wonderfully relaxing, and we can’t wait to return soon. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a unique and...

Billy and Brandon keep a beautiful home; though large and eloquent, it’s also very warm and inviting. We mostly holed up in our room or ventured downtown, but we did explore the first floor sitting rooms (and were lucky enough to get some time with one of the pups) and enjoyed some tea and a puzzle in the card room. We also poked our noses into the other rooms (we were the only guests at the time) and all of them are lovely. Plush carpets, hardwood, fluffy beds, bathrobes, a real first-class experience!
The breakfasts were also exceptional. I’ve included a picture of the opening course of our first day’s meal; this was followed by an egg-scramble-filled acorn squash with a side salad, and an incredible cinnamon scone. We don’t normally eat such a large breakfast, but it was too good to let a single bite go to waste.
We’re hoping to make this a traditional get-away spot for ourselves, as we had such a lovely time. I would definitely recommend this...
