Genuinely surprised in every good way possible! On a last min whim to go out for dinner, Husband and I made our way to Mr. V's. First timers. There's complimentary valet parking with a super sweet gentleman ready to park your car. We walked in to live music to the left and got seated (right away) to the right of the restaurant. Ambiance is that of a steak house. Dim, romantic lighting, to get you into the mood for the deliciousness you're about to enjoy. We ordered coconut shrimp and 1/2 an order of oysters. For entrées I ordered the steak and lobster (I forgot, there's a specific way Mr. V's calls it) with grilled asparagus and garlic mash. Hubby got the jambalaya on rice. A-MA-ZING!!! From start to finish! I mean them oysters were so fresh and flavorful, the coconut shrimped paired so perfectly with their signature tart sauce (which has pineapple!). My filet mignon was perfectly cooked to medium and I was caught off guard when I received not one very plump lobster tails BUT TWO very plump lobster tails 🤤. My husband said that it was the best jambalaya he's ever had on the west coast! I regret not taking pictures of everything but the memory lives on in my heart 😍. Lastly I'll say the service was spectacular! Our glass of water never went below half ways and everyone was so very genuinely thoughtful which made this dinner one of my favorites!

When you arrive, the parking lot is small and crowded, but the valet is complimentary. They do not take reservations on Friday nights, but we arrived at 5:30 and were seated immediately. Things were busy by 6:30 and it looked like every seat was filled when we left at 7. The dining room is classy and we felt the high-end vibes immediately. Our server, Tamara, was clearly a veteran - perfectly professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I enjoyed an Old Fashioned, a Manhattan, and a Chocolate Martini, each delicious. The seared ahi appetizer presented well, but the texture was denser than expected, not sure why. The bread was soft and warm, but the crust was harder than expected. The butter was served in plastic to-go ramekins, which seemed unfitting, but not worth complaining about. My wife and I ordered a filet mignon and a ribeye respectively. Both were high quality and cooked perfectly. Two sides were included with the entrees, which was nice, since many upscale steakhouses and restaurants serve entrees ala cart. Everything was lightly seasoned, which I thought was perfect, but others may prefer to add salt. The Chocolate Lovers Cake was a rich and delicious way to end the meal. Overall, the taste and experience was well worth the pricetag. I am looking forward to our next visit.

This place is top notch! Everything was so delicious. We had the aromatic shrimp as a starter. It was delectable. The shrimp were fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce had the right amount of sweetness and tanginess. It was an outstanding dish. It's one of the signature dishes here as told to us by the waiter. I was looking for a baked potatoe for my dinner. I was pleased and surprised at the enormity of my spud. Perfectly baked with all the topping My baby back ribs were scrumptious and tender. I also had a whiskey sour with my dinner .....it gave me a serious buzz. I can't vouch for the meals of my son and husband, but they both agreed that the best thing they ate were the shrimp. My husband had the 10oz sirloin and my son had the asian style salmon which I sampled. It was yummy. Finally, we shared a turtle cheesecake for dessert on the recommendation of the waiter. It did not disappoint. Suffice to say there were lots of leftovers. Love their sourdough rolls too! I can't forget to mention the outstanding service by the wait staff! Everyone was on point.

When we arrived they had complementary valet. We were walk ins, and where promptly seated.

Our server Brent was great. Honest, attenitive, prompt and polite. Ordered drinks and shortly followed by complementary bread.

We started off with the a shirmp appetizer. Which was a breaded shrimp serverd over broccoli. Shrimp breading was soggy with a generic sauce, tasted like a frozen bag of premade shrimp and sauce, only doctored up with sesame seeds and steamed broccoli. Sreving was too much, very unproportional for an appitizer!

Main course...

Ordered the rib eye, 16 oz (medium), rice pilaf, loaded bake potato. Meat was cooked to ordered. Meat was very chewy, like it was bought from Stator Bros. Lacked basic seasoning like SALT and pepper. Bake potato was good and had a great presentation. Rice was very bland, large chunks of veggies also seemed prepackaged.

Wife ordered prime rib, sauteed mushrooms. Had good seasoning on the crust but did not transfer through out. Very fatty cut. Not marblized, just fatty. Also way over cooked!

Dessert.

We orderd the lava cake and ice cream. Came out in like 5 min! Once again probably frozen and microwaved. But wasnt bad, but had low expectations by that time.

Then went over to the bar area because they said they had live entertainment. Was ramdom as can be. Guy on a sax singing, TLC, Al Green...He was good but did not fit the ambiance

In conclusion, they are trying to be high end but food was sub par! Like evey great steakhouse, the food speaks for itself. Either need to serve fresher, or made to order food. Or get a better executive chef. Seemed like a fast food Ruth Chris.

Only gets 2 stars do to excellent service!

Ps Brent you should apply for Ruth Chris,...

Worst establishment with the worst employees ever, including the front desk and the manager Travis. I made a reservation 4 days in advance for our 40th wedding anniversary dinner. We took our 90+ mother inlove with us who is visiting us. I told them specifically during the phone reservation it was a special night and we want to be seated in a booth at the main dinning area. When we arrived at the exact 8:00 PM reservation time they tried to sit us right by the front entry with the door opening and closing every few minutes. As I asked the manager he acted in a non caring manner offering no apology claiming that it was just a misunderstanding and told us to wait 10-15 minutes. Explaining that we could not wait around too long because of my elderly mother inlove I asked him to sit us as quickly as possible. After nearly 30 minutes waiting he offered us the next booth over from the original one still by the entry area. While we are waiting other people arrived and were seated in the main dining room with no wait. They obviously shoved preference to some groups. They destroyed our special night. We had no other choice but getting up and leaving. Do not ever go to this establishment or plan any special event here , they just do not care or try to treat you as a customer. We are very...
