Wow, new restaurant in La Quinta. This is a really good, basic Mexican restaurant with cooking just like Mom's and that's because Mom is the cook!
If you are reading any reviews here make sure they are after May 2021, because this restaurant moved from Cathedral City to La Quinta in May. Older reviews are about the previous location.
This is a really friendly little restaurant in the old La Quinta Village shopping center, the home of the new drive-thru Starbucks. We have been 3 times and have had a good experience each time. The portions are good, the food is hot, and the family that runs it actually seems to like what they do. There is Mom and Dad, a couple of brothers, a cousin or two and they all really understand that a hello and friendly attitude is appreciated.
The have a Beer and Wine license, and sell a wine tequila that was surprisingly good. The patio was not yet open, but at 108 degrees I am not too disappointed. It is new in every detail, new booths, new paint, really clean and well kept.
While I say the food is basic mexican, they take pride in what and how they serve you. The Fajitas plate is served sizzling and on fire. Really spectacular. They had a whole fish dish on special the first evening we were there that was also served sizzling and hot that looked really authentic.
The Los Tres Amigos is three enchilada side by side, each better that the last. Their Diablo Shrimp is not for the faint of heart, we loved it, but thank goodness they got their beer license the night we ordered it!
Last week we had the Steak Nacho and were very happy. And full. Their chips and salsa are very good (the salsa comes in a small bowl, but ask for more, you'll like it).
Lots of parking, if you know the center it has suffered from lack of tenants for years, and this is really nice addition. Unfortunately, the pandemic was not kind to the other restaurants in the center and several have closed.
Really like Los Arcos. ...
Read moreThere are lots of Mexican food choices in La Quinta, and this one is on the top of the list. The team who works there is just lovely. We were seated quickly during the lunch rush. The chips and salsa were fantasticâthe salsa was fresh and the chips were crispy with just enough salt. I often judge a Mexican restaurant by the quality of their chips and salsa and Los Arcos scored highly! We started with the Cadillac Margarita. It was huge and tasty and required a nap in the afternoon đ. I had the traditional street tacos with steak and my husband had the vegetarian burrito. Both entrees were huge and enough for another meal. I loved the street tacos. Really lean beef and freshly made corn tortillas, with freshly chopped onion and cilantro on top. The refried beans on the side were really good too. The vegetarian burrito didnât have any of the âpeasant vegetablesâ that he doesnât like (Zuccini). Definitely worth a try when...
Read moreWe visited frequently while staying in Old Town La Quinta during January 2025. A beautiful family run business with excellent and affordable food and drinks. Someone at our resort recommended that we try as it was the best traditional Mexican food in La Quinta, I think they are the best in Palm Springs. It has been a long time since having great Mexican food and when we return to this winter Oasis La Quinta Old Town we will definately return to Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant. I don't think I have ever been to a restaurant where you are treated so welcoming as soon as you walk through the door. I celebrated my birthday on Friday January 10 and had so much fun. Stephen the youngest son, was our server and he was so entertaining, friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want friendly service and great authentic home made Mexican dishes including excellent fresh guacamole made...
