RUDE! Call it being naive on my part, but really, as a new dog owner I had NO CLUE dogs were not allowed in restaurants. On 11/29/12, my 9-year-old daughter and I walked into this Subway with our brand new 12-week-old Teacup Chihuahua, I directed her to sit at one of the tables while I ordered. I was about to pay for my order when I heard commotion behind me, a Subway employee was ordering my daughter to leave, another one was holding the door open and pointing at her while finger motioning to her to go outside. I addressed the woman by the door and asked what was wrong, she said dogs were not allowed to be in the restaurant and that the dog and my daughter had to leave. It was obvious I was about to pay and so I told her, “Let me finish paying for this and we will leave, but I will not let my daughter stand outside alone.” At this point, she then pointed to the "Refuse Service" sign and said, "We'll then I refuse you service." We left and I called the franchise owner Thad Kirk, who basically chastised me for not knowing dogs were not allowed in restaurants, stating, "Really have you ever seen a dog in a restaurant?” He also asked, “Who gave you this number?” He said that if I called corporate all they would do was direct the complaint back to him. Like I said, I'm a new dog owner and I REALLY did not know! But, what I do know is how not to treat people and neither of these two women nor the franchise owner, Thad Kirk, knows anything about customer service! I would have appreciated if at least one of these two women would have come up to me discreetly and pointed out my faux pas and explained the HS code. But, this wasn't done. It was easier for them to act like drill sergeants towards a 9-year-old and a puppy than to be nice. My daughter loves Subway; we have been long time customers of this Subway since it's the only one in the LQ Cove, up until today. My daughter had achieved a high mark at school and Subway was going to be her chosen treat. But, thanks to these two rude women (one of them named Lorraine) and an uncaring franchise owner, Thad Kirk, our meal and day was ruined. I am a reasonable, caring, intelligent and understanding person and citizen. All it would have taken to salvage this situation would have been a little professionalism on their part. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and I am glad Yelp provides a soap box for me to voice my opinion. I get to the store to pick up my order, and I have 1 bag of chips (I ordered 2 meals both with chips) I have 1 cookie and I ordered 2, I have no cups for drinks. So once I asked for 2 cups, asked to check for sun chips in the back and told them I was missing a cookie, I received what I ordered and took my drinks and bag of food and headed home. Granted I was a little bit skeptical about the paper bag that the food was in, but carrying 2 paper cups with drinks in them, I didn't have a chance to worry. I get home and as I'm walking into my front door... the paper bag with the good in it, completely splits open and my food goes everywhere. We walked in and I didn't get to look at the menu or say hi before the girl stared at me bluntly and said "what do you want.?" Not even just a hello I felt uncomfortable ordering like she didn't want me there. Mind you no one was in the store so it wasn't busy at all, and it wasn't near closing or anything. She seemed to have attitude making it even though I said nothing but hi, and my order. I try not to write reviews like this unless it's really bad and I am paying for a simple service and food and should not feel uncomfortable doing so, especially since I was polite!!
