Palm Royale Country Club — Restaurant in La Quinta

This place is DOPE. I am an avid golfer, 7 handicap who plays a lot of “championship” 18 hole courses in Denver where I live…I’ve barely ever heard of an 18 hole par 3 most of them are only 9 holes, usually an afterthought on the grounds of a big course and usually the red headed step child of the main course as far as upkeep or anything…this is NOT the case with Palm Royale!

This place is awesome. I thought it was a super fun experience. Take half the clubs out of your bag as an 8 iron is probably the longest club you’ll need…but honestly it was in great shape! Nice little greens with some hills/breaks to make it challenging. Plenty of (nicely kept) bunkers, PLENTY of water basically on half the holes it’s somewhat in play…they even have some little desert sandy areas. Great little shop that serves as the starting house and halfway house with beers/snacks available…this place was a blast!

Like I said I play a lot of golf and I had a great time trying to hit 80-110 yd shots close, greens rolled true. It is not an urban legend that Freddy Couples shot -11 here…they have the scorecard and picture of him in the clubhouse to prove it, which is just another cool little thing about this course! When we played there was a lady who the shop guy told us “is on the Japan tour” playing right in front of us…so if it’s good enough for someone like that to go work on their short-er game…it’s good enough for anyone! And $27 all day every day when half the big courses in the area are $100-200 for a round…how can you beat it?! 100% worth checking this place out…I probably would have drove a ways to play here but it was 5 minutes from my in-laws house, and I can definitely say I will be playing here every time I’m in town...

Palm Royale is absolutely beautiful. But here's the catch, my review is based on the temporary disc golf course that is put on this gorgeous ball golf course!!! First off id like to thank the owners for being absolutely sweet and caring and for allowing us to use this 5 star course for another form of golf that we love! Second it is the most beautiful course I've personally played at especially for golf courses. It's my number 1 favorite course! The grass is stunning the water is beautiful and the waterfalls and bridge that were redone not too long ago are also what makes this place breath taking!!! The views are mighty fine as well!!! So all in all it's perfect for me! I think anyone, even ball golfers, would find this a perfect place to play! It is all par 3s so beginner friendly as well!! Oh how could I forget, they also just refinished all of the grass to make it even more lovely than...

My son and I booked an 8 am tee time(first off) trying to get a fun 18 in quickly. We made the turn to discover the back 9 was stuffed with foursomes of some men's league. When we tried to just play #18 and be done we were told 'no way' by the 4 old guys headed to the tee and scolded by the pommy in the pro shop. Would have been so easy for them all to say we get it go ahead and play (would have taken us all of 4 or 5 minutes) , Sorry for the inconvenience. Instead it left us with a very sour taste and poor memory of this cute...
