As someone who was both from out of town and who also works in food service, I was a little put off by the service.

There were 6 women behind the counter, and we were greeted by two of them, which was fine, and were pointed to the portable menus on the side. It was not particularly busy, as I was exploring my options, one person helped my friend, and another was at the other POS waiting, and I had mentioned that it was my first time, and stepped off to the side while trying to decide between a smoothie or a coffee, and I verbalized it, but not even 10 seconds later I was asked if I had decided anything yet. It just felt like I was being rushed, there was no introduction to being there, what they specialized in, what people usually get, etc

I had ordered a smoothie and a cinnamon roll. When the cinnamon roll was put up on a plate, I had barely touched the corner to push it back s and I asked if they can please heat it up.

I was immediately responded to, (not harshly, but not tactfully either) "since you touched the plate, we cannot take it back, but there is a microwave you can use near the back" - all fine, but the practice of that policy does not stay consistent with behind the counter practices, I literally saw 2 of them adjust their hair with their bare hands, not a single person washed their hands before handling food, or even put gloves on(this was a period of 10 minutes between right before I ordered to heating up my own cinnamon roll). So it seems a little extreme to enforce something where the violations behind the counter appear to be worse than what I did. I'm nitpicking, but had they been kinder about it, it really would have not been an issue. I very much understand the working environment, but they seemed to just want to talk with each other and deal with customers as fast as possible.

Views are amazing, it was nice they have shady areas outside in the back, however, there were a noticeable amount of flies, for which I'm not sure if that's normal.

The other staff bussing tables were very kind and table touched on us, which I...

I had a deeply upsetting experience at River Rock Café that I feel compelled to share. When I asked the barista, Derek, for help, he responded in a confrontational and aggressive manner. Instead of offering assistance, he escalated the situation by making what felt like a provocation—asking me if I wanted to “do something,” as if challenging me to a street fight. His behavior was completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

What made the situation even worse was that he encouraged another customer to get involved. That customer then told me I wasn’t welcome and made a blatantly racist remark, saying that “my kind,” referring to me being Latino, wasn’t welcome.

I immediately reported the incident to the manager, Rachel. Unfortunately, she did not seem to recognize the seriousness of what had happened or the hostile and discriminatory nature of the encounter. Her response—or lack thereof—was incredibly disappointing.

Because of the gravity of this incident, I respectfully request that someone from upper management or corporate review any available security footage from that day to see the situation firsthand. I believe the footage will speak for itself and provide a clearer understanding of the unacceptable behavior I experienced.

This incident has been deeply disheartening. River Rock Café used to be one of my favorite places to go, but after being subjected to such open hostility and racism—with no accountability from staff—I no longer feel safe or welcome there. Until there is meaningful acknowledgment and action, I will not...

Pulled in to the restaurant’s free parking at 8:27 pm, they close at 9:00. The staff was still helpful, friendly and very quick with our tea and meal fir dinner that we went back for breakfast.

I will say it was SO windy and cold outside it was refreshing to see on the menu the white jasmine tea which has that floral, sweet, perfumed or sort of fragrant taste/smell. It was also served so hot we asked for a second cup to pour some out to cool it off.

We ordered the Black bean burger, layered with cashew cheese, arugula, avocado, tomato on a roll not sour dough bread but delicious and oh-so-tasty! Get this if you are a vegan/vegetarian or just looking for something different!

I ordered the grilled cheese, skip it… they serve it with a pickle and potato chips. The pickle was super crunchy but the griddled cheese had no flavor. The cashier, Emily, OMG, could not have been nicer if she tried !!!!! Asked me what kind of bread and cheese I wanted…. So my fault but maybe… try like the south… fried green tomatoes and grilled cheese or something… can charge more :)

Well, we liked it and can back for breakfast. Get there EARLY! Got there at 8:30 packed! Got our coffee and latte in no time. Waited about :20 for our everything bagel sandwich (would recommend) eggs were moist, lots of flavor.

We were told to order the Cinnamon roll French toast, skip it unless you love sugar and Mrs. Butterworth “maple” syrup yuck!

Anyway, go, enjoy the staff, the drinks, the bagels...

You rarely get to visit a place which has ALL of it - i.e., 1. Great coffee, 2. Great service, and 3. Great views. I got the Pumpkin Spice Latte — it was fabulous, so were the views and muffin. Friends mentioned the mocha and bagel sandwiches were great as well.

Nice spot with a canyon overlook . Also have wifi. I was there at lunch time , good crowd but didn't feel crowded. I had a burger which was excellent- generous patty size of real beef. The Beet salad , Cesar salad , and desert items looked awesome also. Although it was a warm day, most of the patio area had shade covering and with a light breeze very relaxing. The inside was nicely air-conditioned . I have limited mobility, using a knee scooter, and was able to nicely manage the parking lot, building and bathrooms. If you use a large Wheel chair the bathrooms might be tight. Warning, if you have wild little kids(or child like adults) , be sure to hold onto them walking in and choose your seating wisely, so they are not tempted to jump down the rocky hill. Also if your scared of the little squirrels, don't sit at the lower patio. I loved watching them, but they seem brave enough to run over your toes to get a crumb. Leashed dogs allowed on PATIO. next time I'll be very comfortable to bring along a doggie friend.
