I will not go back. High prices, poor staff and poor quality food. If you do patronize, be prepared to wait and check your bill for accuracy. We were there for an hour and 20 minutes plus the wait for a table.
This is clearly marketed to tourists.
We found this resturant searching Google and it seemed like a good place to stop. I checked the website to see the menu and found prices unlisted, a reason I usually don't patronize a restaurant. The reviews were great and there was photos of the menu posted the previous month.
When we arrived there was a wait, we were told 50 minutes. We were sat a little before that.
The host maintained a service orientated attitude but that's it. We were walked past two open tables, a two and four seat, a section that appeared closed and sat at a table right behind the Point of Sale station. We observed the next group being sat at the section that appeared closed.
When we looked at the menu, we were surprised by the prices. The photos may have been a lunch menu, but this is the only mid-range resturant I've seen prices doubled between menus. The server told us the prices change recently too.
The server was polite but couldn't stay on task. It took 7 minutes for the bill to arrive when we asked for it. When asked what was recommended everything on the menu was suggested, scripted answers would have been more helpful.
The food quality was poor, we ordered the patato skins and linguini Alfredo with chicken. The skins were brought out reasonably before the entrees but were cooked until the oil left the cheese, leaving it dry and chewy. The Alfredo had separated leaving a pool of butter on the dishware and the "chicken" was worse as it was pork! I hate pork but wasn't about to say anything as the service staff was too busy talking behind the bar all night and I didn't want to wait another 40 minutes. The bread stick was a butter stick with some bread.
In total we were in the resturant for an hour and 20 minutes.
When the bill finally arrived, after 7 minutes of the server talking and doing other tasks, we took another few minutes to figure out what they had done. The line items didn't make sense and when we added it up the bill was two dollars more than the listed prices. When we finally got the server back to the table and told her there was an error we were told no, the prices were right but she would be back with a menu. When she returned she told us she would correct it and that she told the other staff of the error. Whether it is truly an error or fraud I don't know, but being I'm not the only review with this issue it is very suspicious. I will not return to...
Read moreMy wife and I went here for our anniversary. We had wanted to try this restaurant for a few years, so we were really looking forward to it. But because it is a bit higher priced than most, we were saving it for a special occasion.
To be honest, we were a bit disappointed. The service was great. The waitress did a good job, was friendly and responsive. I ordered the cowboy ribeye and my wife ordered the chicken fried chicken. The food was ok but nothing to write home about.
The salad course was good. My wife ordered the mashed potatoes and they were good. I ordered a loaded baked potato and it was a nice size, with plenty of bacon and green onions and cheese. But the cheese was cold. It really should have been melted/broiled on top of that potato. The side of sauteed veggies was edible also, but arrived a little cool But it was certainly edible.
My wife's chicken was well seasoned and a very generous size chicken breast. No complaints about that. But it has an unusual mushroom cream gravy on top. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad at all, but it's not really what I would expect with chicken fried anything.
The real disappointment was the cowboy ribeye. At $48, described as hand cut, I would expect a pretty good steak. But this wasn't. I routinely get better ribeyes at Texas Roadhouse for half the price. Half my steak was VERY gristley. I could hardly chew it, despite it being cooked to apparently the correct temperature. And it was not really adequately seasoned. It wasn't inedible, but I get better quality steak at the grocery store. I would suggest that if you are hand cutting it, you should be able to identify the quality of the cut. I can, and I'm not a chef. I'm not saying they shouldn't serve steak. Just that if this is the steak you serve, you should not be charging $48. I also ordered it with sauteed mushrooms as a topping, which never came. But that's par for the course at every restaurant nowadays. I haven't eaten anywhere that hasn't missed something in a very long time.
Now, some might be wondering why the 5 star rating? Well, because I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. An off night. This was a Tuesday, so not exactly prime time. Maybe they are normally much better and I'm just unlucky. I don't know. I don't want my rating to hurt their overall score. I will give them another try...
Read moreWe loved everything about the evening we spent at Stagecoach Grille! The decor and ambiance is off the charts fabulous--wild west theme! We chose the restaurant on the basis of the menu and that the emphasis is on FRESH ingredients and the best meat and seafood. I am a home "gourmet" cook so my standards are very high. And the primary rule for me is I don't want to pay restaurant prices for meats and fish that have been frozen. Seafood, I understand, may have been frozen, of course. My husband and I are in our 70's so we chose to share the ribeye steak and opted to make it "Oscar" with one of the wonderful crab cakes and bearnaise sauce. The steak was well seasoned, tender, and perfectly cooked to the temperature we ordered. The crab cake was one of the best we've ever had. I can't even make them as good as what we were served. The plate was completed with a wonderful baked potato and sauteed squash and zucchini. A salad preceded the entree and the lettuce was well chilled and fresh. I'm guessing the ranch is a housemade buttermilk dressing because it was very good. We ordered chocolate cake to go (because we were filled up from dinner!) and it was the bomb! I had a Cadillac Margarita and it was spectacular! Nice wine list. Now for the staff: Madie was our server and she was so friendly and nice. Attentive but not intrusive. Ask for her when you make a reservation! The host whose name I didn't get was friendly and welcoming and seated us on the screened porch area where the piped in music was a little quieter. Jimmie, the general manager, visited each of the tables to see how the patrons were enjoying their meals and service. We couldn't have been more complimentary and satisfied, that is, unless I could have had another Margarita...but I was the driver so I couldn't do that!! We will probably never be this way again, so I always want to be helpful and tell others about when we have a very noteworthy experience in a restaurant when we are on vacation. It might help others make a decision based on their tastes and wallet. Remember the emphasis at the Stagecoach Grille is on fresh and quality ingredients. We felt the meal was very reasonably priced for the quality of food and...
