I had visited Acreage a few months ago with two friends and we loved it. I had family in town over the weekend and thought it would be a great way to end their visit by having dinner here on Sunday night. We were sadly very disappointed. The service was extremely poor and our server was rude and just out right condescending. A couple of us in our group are or were servers or bartenders ourselves. Our server asked for each of us to open up a tab separately to make it easier for her so she did not have to split everything at the end which is fine. However, all of our food did not come out at once, which if it was a few minutes behind I would understand that. But that was not the case. My sister’s food came first, then we sat and waited for 15 minutes, then someone else's food came, then another 10 minutes, two more peoples food came, then finally I said something when we were still missing more food. The waitress looked at me and almost yelled at me and said, “Yeah I know it’s coming”. Before all of this I saw our server once. She took 15 minutes to even come to our table to take our order before this all happened. Thankfully the food was great. When we were done she went to close us out, she sat down at our table and while she was closing us out she was complaining about how shes been there for 9 hours and doesn’t need to be there anymore. I thought that was probably not appropriate to say when we did not ask her anything that would prompt that type of comment. A few of us in our party paid cash or used a different card then she captured in the beginning, however my sister who paid in cash was charged for the full amount on her credit card too. Not just a hold, it was the total amount of her bill and it was withdrawn from her account and she paid her cash. This actually happened to another person in our group too. I caught our server on our way out and she was trying to dismiss me and stated in a condescending tone, “yeah it does that it will go away soon”. Well when it did not go away I spoke to a manager and he issued a refund on one of the cards which was very nice and said that that should not have happened. I told my sister that the manager did that for someone in our party, so she took her card and went back to tell them the same thing happened to her too. However this time she did not speak to the manager she spoke to a server who dismissed her and said “if it’s still there by Wednesday just call back.” Well it is Wednesday and it is still not back and no one has still issued a refund to us on meals that we were charged twice for. Honestly this whole experience with the being charged twice would have been fine if our server was at least nice to us and acted like we were not an inconvenience to her. I have never had a server or even just someone in public talk to me in the tone and way she talked to us during our meal. Probably a good thing we only saw her three times the whole night so she couldn’t be more rude and mean to us. So sad that this experience has ruined me ever going back here again, because their food and cider...
Read moreWe were immediately seated near the front door in am area that felt "off", cut off from any people, and with white, boring walls. It felt like an empty box. We asked to be moved outside abd tgey obliged us, thankfully. There was plenty of available open seating, so we found a good spot and hunkered down at a big table that was made from an old wooden cable spool. It was cute. Our server was very friendly, but a bit overwhelmed. The place does a huge amount of business, although we saw that there were plenty of servers walking around. We started with frozen margaritas and the onion dip with house-made chips. The margaritas were tangy. We wondered if they came pre-made from a slushie-type margarita machine. They tasted okay. More on that later. The onion dip was delicious, and the house chips were potato chips and really crunchy. We liked those a lot, but the chips ran out long before the dip did. Maybe they can fix that ratio? We both ordered the Thai shrimp bowls for our mains. The cilantro rice was cooked perfectly and tasted good. We were given an adequate amount of shrimps, tail off, nice size and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the cook used a heavy hand with the seasoning. They were so unbelievably salty that I deemed them inedible. They were truly "ruined." My husband ate most of mine, although he agreed that they were salty to the point of being "horrible." He was hungry, and we had no desire to cause a fuss and send them back. We will not order those again. Overall, the food and drink had that "corporate" vibe, like they were sticking to a rigid script. We thought the flavors were manufactured and too intense. Although sitting outside was a real treat, and it's worth it just to enjoy the view of the front range from an Adirondak chair if you can grab one. We did, and we finished our drinks out there after paying for our dinner and leaving the table. We decided that we would go back again, because we can ride our ebikes there, but we would stick to what they're made for, which is their canned cider and probably just get burgers and fries. So, back to the margaritas. We both went to bed with the nasty headache we tend to get when a corporate restaurant uses pre-made mixers, which use God knows what kind of chemicals and generic tequila. We had two each over the course of 90 minutes, and they were small, so no overdoing it there. We just won't get those again, and we don't recommend them. We are in our mid 50s, empty-nesters. The crowd is mostly young families and there are lots of little one running about, although we saw a few others like us. It is a unique place on a beautiful piece of land. We recommend you take advantage of any opportunity to go and experience it for yourselves. It is extremely popular right now, and we needed a reservation, even on a Monday, so call ahead to make sure that...
Read moreWe had such a disappointing experience at Acreage this past weekend! We have been here several times before without a reservation and had gotten food from the food truck. The views are spectacular! The food truck food is meh. You cannot order a cider flight without a reservation at the restaurant, which is also disappointing.
We were excited to finally have reservations this time! We had out of town family visiting and thought this was the perfect place for dinner on Saturday night! The view was beautiful. We booked a table for 11. We were unexpectedly seated at 2 separate tables. Nobody asked us if we would be okay being separated. This definitely sucked as we didn’t all get to socialize with our family who flew in all the way from FL to spend the evening with us. It was also interesting as we had 2 tables on either side of us that were pushed together to allow for larger groups, but somehow we got the shaft. The table behind us was basically screaming the entire time, with kids literally pulling ropes off of the walls and dragging them around the deck, making our conversation and time ordering nearly impossible.
My brother was sitting at the other table, and his food order was apparently cancelled by the kitchen because “2 people ordered salmon at the same table and that never happens!” Um, what?! I was literally done with my entire meal by the time his finally came out. And he did not order a duplicate of someone else at his table…not that that should matter. He waited over 25 minutes after we were all served to get his meal. Absurd.
The service was what really killed the experience though. We had servers visit our table exactly 3 times. Once to take our food order about 20 minutes after we arrived, once to have food runners deliver the food with our drinks (the drinks came out with the food - nearly 30 minutes after we ordered. We planned to order more drinks but since it was so slow just stuck with the initial order), and then after my uncle had already paid the bill at our second table. She came to inform us that the bill was taken care of and we had 30 minutes to vacate the table for the next party. I understand that they have a time limit on the tables. I agreed to that when I booked the reservation. I don’t need a 30 minute heads up on being kicked out. If we are approaching the 5 or 10 minute mark, sure, remind us. We left a few minutes later, but her rude “reminder” honestly just made us want to sit there for the next 30 minutes to...
